  1. Oracle! Ha, that means the govt. gets an automatic copy of the customer data. I read the bill a couple days ago. It really illustrates there is no “rule of law”. One part basically defines an ability of the “President” to take any website down without due process of the law, for affiliation with a prohibited source. The 2nd piece is the DC Court stipulation is onerous!
Now that it’s on the books, it can be amended to include just about any other “prohibited source”.

  2. This is true about the bill centralizing control, however the effective ownership is Chinese.

I have a friend that is lawyer for Tiktok ( I was a bit horrified that he chose to work there). But he has complained quite a few times that he gets instructions from China about adding features to Tiktok that are almost absolutely illegal and invasive.

It is really that the ties or opposition to the Chinese gov and US deep state is not everything it seems. They both love the invasive control and China has been prototyping what they want to do here.

Likely now there is a realization that they are losing control of a lot of data through Tiktok. But the Biden team posts on Tiktok, both the Apple and Google store allow Tiktok even when they know how much it overrides privacy on US phones. Really they just want Tiktok and everything else for themselves.

    1. The majority owner of Tik-Tok is from Singapore, which is not part of China. The owner was educated in the US at Ivy League universities.
Israeli lobbyists are driving the takeover of Tik-Tok to stop the sharing of information about global events, news and wars from reaching the young people who use Tik-Tok.
