On June 3, the Italians seize $134.5 billion in US Treasuries (maybe fake, maybe not) from two Japanese on the Swiss-Italian border. Under the law, the Italians may have the right to claim a healthy % of them.
On June 29th the Pope publishes a new encyclical, immediately prior to the G-8 meeting in Italy and President Obama’s visit to the Vatican, and calls for a new world order government by an international entity with teeth to enforce against US financial institutions.
Then, on July 8th, the Swiss government suddenly tells the IRS to p*** off with respect to the UBS case.
Just a coincidence?
I always loved the story of Samuel, the beginning of politics…
“And the Lord told him: ‘Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king. As they have done from the day I brought them out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you. Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them do.’” {1Samuel 8:7-9}
“Now then, stand still and see this great thing the Lord is about to do before your eyes! Is it not wheat harvest now? I will call upon the Lord to send thunder and rain. And you will realize what an evil thing you did in the eyes of the Lord when you asked for a King.
Then Samuel called upon the Lord, and that same day the Lord sent thunder and rain. So all the people stood in awe of the Lord and Samuel.” {1 Samuel 12:16-18}
“Do not be afraid,” Samuel replied. “You have done all this evil; yet do not turn away from the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart. Do not turn away after useless idols. Interesting are the words of Josephus…
“Some nations place the sovereignty of their land in the hands of a single ruler {monarchy], some in the hands of a number of rulers {oligarchy}, and some in the hands of the people {democracy]. Moses our Teacher taught us to place our faith in none of these forms of government. He taught us to obey the rule of God, for to God alone did he accord kingship and power. He commanded the people always to raise their eyes to God, for He is the source of all good for mankind in general and for each person in particular and in Him will people find help when they pray to Him in their time of suffering, for no act is hidden from His understanding and no hidden thought of man’s heart is hidden from Him.” {Josephus Flavius, Contra Apion, Volume One}
I had noticed at the end of the encyclical the pope wished that all mankind would worship God the Father then said a prayer to Mary. What’s wrong with worshipping Mary?
Jesus Christ had to born of a sinner to “come in the flesh”:
1 John 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
1 John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

@Katherine: One wonders that you depict the sitting Pope as a “nonbeliever” of sorts…Clearly you must realize that the Vatican is a nation ( theocracy ); and also, the seat of the Catholic Church ( The Holy See )…As such the Pope wears two hats…whereas the Jesus of the Bible wore none…The rituals of the Church are sacrosanct…yet it’s involvement in the world of real politics goes back through the centuries…You are correct to say that the Church should be adamently opposed to the workings of the NWO if one is to take the teachings of Jesus to heart….yet it is common knowledge that as a Church it faced and may still face internal opposition in this hemisphere which is known as liberation theology; and particularly after originally accompanying the Conquistadors to the New World and overseeing the slaughter that ensued that this distancing from Rome is evident….The Holy See is not “in this world but not of it…” as one might wish it to be…it is very much concerned/involved with the financial epoch we are all witnessing. Remember Pope Pius XII (??) was known as “Hitler’s Pope”…Tony Blair, potentially the next President of the EU has recently converted to Catholicism…what might this possibility mean for the Church? If this were to occur, is Mr. Blair obliged to “obey” the Pope??? Or the other way around? That was the argument against the presidency of JFK in 1960 ( that he was obliged to obey the Pope )… Just maybe Pope Benedict is experiencing a sense of “precognition” where the superior personality may or may not be secular or not. As self-preservation in a world of intrigue envelops this world leader, the complications of being the leader of the Church and as the head of the Vatican nation are intertwined so that more of these treatises on this subject may become common practice.
With all due respect to the Pontiff, his terribly lengthy, convoluted treatise misses the fundamental point on our Lord’s statement on things political, “Render onto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, render unto God, the things that are God’s”. To translate, our Lord was succintly stating the obvious that government is a thing of man and will always fall short of the mark. God, on the other hand never falls short. He is all, knows all. Seek God and you will find his kingdom, you will never find it in the imperfect world of man. The problem with all these New World Order types is they reside in a self deception, a narcissism that in its resulting inevitable perception of superiority over other mortels, dictates that they act in behalf of God and eventually see themselves as God(s). To proclaim oneself a God is the greatest blasphemy, the worship of the golden idol of self. I find it absolutely frightening that the head of the largest Christian church, the one that claims it is the only true universal church, is joining with the forces of the New World Order, who, quite paradoxically, in implementing their draconian plan for the world, is destroying, the greatest nation ever founded, I believe, inspired by God himself in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America. Guarantors of life and liberty for the individual, each one endowed by his creator, truly beloved in his or her uniqueness, given the gift of life to enjoy here on earth and in the life that is everlasting. These are the concepts Christ would be mosted interested in for his creation. Social justice is an illusion, created by the likes of Karl Marx, an illusion that destroys freedom, liberty, and all too often life itself. The New World Order is everything our Lord would despise, a cabal of elites, corporations and bankers out to enslave and deprive others for their own self enrichment. Remember, Christ did throw the money changers out of the Temple. That is what His church should be concerned with now – throw the money changers out of the Temple and spread liberty, self determination, freedom and opportunity to the world’s people. It’s hard to say that the pope is the ringleader of the New World Order because it would appear that he only makes suggestions but has no real power. He seems to be well in tune with NWO agendas and blames peoples morality for its success or failure, whether it is a blessing or a curse. He’s opposed to free markets favoring socialism and redistribution of wealth. Thinks capitalism failed because people are selfish. I would say the same is true for socialism based on the corruption we see from people in high positions, if not that capitalism was sabotaged by socialists. Knowing a little about the pope I would find it hard to believe he would support any ideas that he was not the originator of. So yeah Catherine, more than coincidence in my opinon. What’s your take?
Paragraph 67 is where he talks about restructuring the U.N. and financial institutions to give the “family of nations” real teeth. Reading the whole thing left my head spinning but I did make out a few things. He likes globalization, and for local economies he thinks pawnbrokers are the answer.
