The RV lifestyle is a cost-effective way to live your dreams.”
~ Jeffrey Webber, RVing & Your Retirement Lifestyle

By Corey Lynn and James White

One thing is certain about the human species, and that’s the fact that we love to travel. But while our ancestors made their way from Point A to Point B in covered wagons, today we have the option (if our pockets are deep enough) of essentially having a fully functioning home on wheels. The adventures that await those who choose this lifestyle are boundless.

Our guests on this edition of the Solution Series, Thom and Robin Walker, are living their dream, one day at a time, in their 40-foot-plus RV. Thom and Robin do a wonderful job of explaining RV living—from the initial purchase of an RV all the way to tips for successfully traveling cross-country while building networks with other travelers and homeschooling one’s children.

With the popularity of “RVing” at its highest levels ever, there is no time like the present to go “wheels-up.” As Orange Coast Magazine noted in 2000, “The greatest thing about the RV lifestyle is the people you meet, and the camaraderie enjoyed.” If you plan on RV living or have ever wondered what it might be like, this episode is not to be missed!

  1. Loved the show! I have crisscrossed this county so many times now (30+ coast to coast?!) in different vehicles, rigs, variations and gigs and still learned some great things. Thank you. I was especially encouraged by the community comments. Especially, as it looks like I am going to pursue a similar Vanlife/RV route as a bridge until real estate settles down (had two near miss purchase deals in TN but seller prices are stubborn) and will perhaps use South Dakota as a jurisdiction (popular with RVs as well as FL, TX and a few others).

One thing seemed odd tho (perhaps incomplete?) – the long gun written permission thing. First time I’ve ever heard that. If you have a firearm that you can legally own at home/start point and destination, then you can travel across and thru any state, tho some are better to avoid (MA, NY, NJ etc). I keep a cheat sheet list of all the state laws in my visor to check when getting near any crossings. And remember – never let them search the vehicle without probable cause.

  2. NOT SEE IDAHO??? Most beautiful state in the country. Why would you say that?

  3. Great show! But please work on the audio. We like to listen on the home stereo while we are preparing dinner and the volume swings and high shrills make it less enjoyable. There should not be that much difference between the volume and sound quality between Corey and James… thanks, Jeff

    1. Agreed. I made a suggestion via Ask Catherine on just this issue a while back cuz i love this series! Unfortunately, my suggestions were soundly rejected (I have a lifetime of audio engineering experience)
I’d be very happy to help out if you need some help!

      1. Jefferey:I forwarded your comment to James and Corey and they appreciate it and are working to improve. Thanks!

        1. i am happy to consult with/help them if they need any advice (gratis). internet audio is tricky…sometimes a race to the bottom, but there are measures that can help 🙂
