Paul Albert Bartholome, Crying Girl

By Duncan Gardham and Paul Cruickshank

Detail of the content emerged from Major General Antonio Taguba, the former army officer who conducted an inquiry into the Abu Ghraib jail in Iraq.

Maj Gen Taguba, who retired in January 2007, said he supported the President’s decision, adding: “These pictures show torture, abuse, rape and every indecency.

“I am not sure what purpose their release would serve other than a legal one and the consequence would be to imperil our troops, the only protectors of our foreign policy, when we most need them, and British troops who are trying to build security in Afghanistan.

Allegations of rape and abuse were included in his 2004 report but the fact there were photographs was never revealed. He has now confirmed their existence in an interview with the Daily Telegraph.

“The mere description of these pictures is horrendous enough, take my word for it.”

Update:

Taguba Saw “Video of Male Soldier Sodomizing Female Detainee”

Jason Leopold, Truthout: “In 2007, shortly after he was forced into retirement, Army Maj. Gen. Antonio M. Taguba made a startling admission. During the course of his investigation into the abuse of prisoners at Abu Ghraib, Taguba said he saw ‘a video of a male American soldier in uniform sodomizing a female detainee.'”

Something So Terrible, No One Dare Know

Catherine’s comment:

The Telegraph/UK’s story above will have quite an impact. First, let’s pray for the safety of all those concerned. Second, it is time to connect the dots between torture and our financial situation.

Do we want the government to continue to borrow money? Do we want our money market accounts, bank CD’s and Treasury securities to hold their value? What about our insurance policies?

The Military Holds the Dollar Up

If we don’t want to use force to command global resources, what is our plan?

The Red Button Problem

Are you ready to push the red button, if it would stop the torture?

  1. The title rephrases the essence of Naomi’s Klein thesis in her “Shock Doctrine”. She holds that the USA applies “disaster capitalism” to impose unregulated capitalism on a country-by-country basis. Here, it’s a tsunami, there it’s an invasion. The “shock & awe” of the disaster, be it natural or man-made, then gives you a window to impose Milton Friedman’s “shock therapy” on the victim nation. Suddenly faced with basic survival issues, the population is too preoccupied to organize opposition to removal of subsidies on staples, privatisation of state assets and the mass layoffs that precede it or shutdown of free/cheap medical care, all followed by jackpot inflation that wipes out savings in a matter of months.

That, um, does seem to be what’s happening.

  2. No, fear does.

This is one sick system, one sick government, and one sick public who allow all of this to occur. Time to look in the mirror and reevaluate without looking to the stable of false-leaders given to us by social planners and disinformation experts, for all they offer is more pre-planned, trauma-response, simulation-tested psychological programming. Time to dig deep folks, do what’s right, and throw-off the parasites.

So, let me take a moment to try to divorce myself from the horror of this imagery to see if it’s possible to shed any light on what’s going on here…

First, they got people aware of ‘lite’ torture (like Abu Graib). Next, now that they have people considering this first level, they amp-it-up to get the public acquainted with a more rigorous torture policy, which was probably in existence but obviously hidden from public view. So, the result is the public becomes accustomed to a new level of state-violence in society.

Second, another outcome from this story is that it causes America to look even more evil and out-of-control to Americans and the World. This is essential for America’s destruction, for it must appear justified to all.

Third, it creates another trauma event (and reaction) for Americans, one that can be leveraged as an opportunity to insert new programming. Watch the extended media for psychically driven messages, as this will provide clues as to the context of the new programming that is being promulgated.

Overall, it’s getting more and more challenging for all of us to watch as Huxley’s Brave New World (BNW) is installed across society. Americans shouldn’t be sitting still for this, because they will not deviate from their path until we force them to. Period.
