Ode to Big Bankers & Politicians
Enjoy yourself, you want us all to Pay;
Enjoy yourself, inflation mounts each Day;
Enjoy yourself, while you defraud us All;
Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, you’re heading for a Fall!
Enjoy yourself, a Trillion Dollar Wink;
Enjoy yourself, while we are turning Pink;
Enjoy yourself, you’ve brought us to the Brink;
Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, your ethics really Stink!
Enjoy yourself, it’s later than you Think;
Enjoy yourself, your Bailout sure does Stink;
Enjoy yourself, YOU’RE standing on that Brink;
Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, you’re going to the Clink!
A man named Hank from New York City
Said, The public must feed my banks’ kitty
But the public demurred
And wisely observed
For you and your minions we have no pity.
I like this idea. As long as we can use our creative genius and interject humor into dire situations we are winners. Keep up the good work, poet laureates.
“I’m afraid that our bank will soon fail
If you care you must hand me a bail.”
I looked straight at the banker
inspiring rancor and said
“Forget it. You’re going to jail.”
==
“No wait, there’s a fire we must douse!
You must quiver and quake like a mouse”
“I dislike you and your ilk
How you all us did bilk”
“Your bill? It will not pass the House.”
==
“I will make your economy crash!
Your investments will go in the trash!”
“We will build it anew and
We’ll do it without you
And in prison you’ll get a strange rash.”
