Wow! What a beautiful song, what profound words, such tenderness and authenticity of emotion, what natural strength and leadership of voice!
This is one of those songs that will always propel us forward. Connie Francis herself surely applied its message during some of her most desperate moments in life, braving assault, trauma, and surgery to return to the stage.
It is also a song for so many of us right now in the fight for freedom, as we may feel sarcastic and jaded at times. If we stop worrying about what could go wrong or fretting about how impossible things are, and instead focus on how we are going to win, we will all do better.

Exactly the attitude required to make it through this decade.
Never thought that my 38 years on this planet have been preparation in the exercise of saying “nope” and enforcing it. I thought I was just being stubborn, funny how things make sense in hindsight. Thanks for posting!
Thank you so much. What an artist she was. If i think about Connie Francis it’s always “Siboney”.

Thanks for remembering Connie! One of the most fascinating reads of my entire life was the book:”Among my Souvenirs, The Real Story Vol. 1″ by Connie Francis.(600 plus pages). There was more truth about American entertainment business history as well as ethnic history in her book than in most American books published on those subjects. I don’t believe she ever completed Volume 2 though which was her intended plan.
Never heard of it before. Fascinating. Will try to find a copy.
Catherine-Here are the ISBN Numbers which show in her book. I suspect she formed her own publishing co. because Concetta is her real non-Anglicized first name, hence “Connie”. I ordered off Abebooks.com a couple years ago which I understand has now been bought out by Amazon unfortunately.

Thank you for that bit of info about Abebooks. I have purchased a few books from them to stay away from Amazon; their tentacles are everywhere. I have been trying to buy books direct from an author if possible. If you have any book seller suggestions NOT owned by Amazon please post
It’s hard to find pipelines to purchase books on line which aren’t in some way owned or connected to Amazon. You would need to buy direct from a publisher. I had been an Abebooks customer for years and while you can still order off that website, was brokenhearted when I heard about Amazon’s buyout. Another Solari member mentioned it too some time last year. You are so right, Amazon’s tentacles are everywhere. When they purchased Whole Foods they entered the food business. Their next move will be into Pharma selling RX’s on line, nationally…probably as soon as they buy out either Rite Aid or CVS.
Skyhorse Publishing. They publish many books that other publishers will not touch over controversial topics. IE: The Real Anthony Fauci
Oh my – be ready to tear up at the opening heartfelt note Connie sings.
Thank you for digging this one up!
