There is a profound warmth and joy of life that oozes from traditional Greek rebetiko music. It almost inescapably brings movement and dance to the body. Zorba’s Dance, the iconic sirtaki written by the Greek musical and political resistance composer Mikis Theodorakis and immortalized by Anthony Quinn in the 1964 film Zorba the Greek, is one of those irresistible pieces.

I was taught that dance in my high school PE class 50 years ago and can still remember the steps. It’s really fun to dance!
Growing up my parents had a huge album collection of all the Broadway musicals. This was one of my favorites! Puts a smile on my face!
