Irish singer Sinéad O’Connor died of unknown causes at the age of 56.

For our Music of the Week, we chose a song from her lesser-known studio album Universal Mother. The song recently was featured in a heart-rending scene of the British TV drama series Peaky Blinders.

“In This Heart” is a beautiful a cappella piece that demonstrates the purity and strength of voice that has always been a hallmark of Sinéad O’Connor’s songs.

A melody as timeless and perfect as any of the most beloved Irish folk ballads.
