This is the first part of an 8-part docuseries describing the real life challenges the British went through when they were asked to double the country’s food production during World War II. This is a reenactment of what happened, a little similar to reality TV that would have happened 80 years ago.

You may be familiar with the Victory Gardens in the UK, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand during WW II, which produced an amazing amount of food. If you’re not, it’s worth learning about it.

  1. I am on part two of this series and loving it. It also made me watch The Dig all over again and purchase a ton of sugar beets as well.

I also have an urge to watch Saving Private Ryan, Dunkirk and just grow more food.

  2. Thank you so much for this recommendation! I started watching it yesterday and I really love all the useful information they share.

    1. Hahaha, thats what I just commented. Innit great though? I was hoping they were going to show how they processed the sugar beets because I just bought a ton of seeds.
