Yellowstone is a drama series that follows the Dutton family, led by patriarch John Dutton (Kevin Costner). The Duttons control the largest contiguous ranch in the U.S. and must contend with constant attacks by land developers, clashes with an Indian reservation and conflict with America’s first national park.

Watch S05E04 (7:55 to 10:30) for an awesome take down of the eco-loon crap from stupid bureaucrats around solar panels and the sage brush grouse. S05 is as good or better than previous seasons on several levels.
I started watching Yellowstone based on Catherines recommendation. As I stated on Twitter to someone, it’s a great encapsulation of Wall St. verse Main St. in the still semi-wild west. The episode title and story that really gave me chills in that Moment of Clarity way was “You’re The Indian Now.” When I watched that episode what was so impactful to me was the, in way, tranisition of key roles.
John Dutton’s favorite son, fell in love and had a son with an American Indian woman. And after much tension and turmoil, John Dutton comes to love and accept and embrace her by Season 3.
And when John Dutton’s ranch, land and family legacy are now under intense pressure (Godfather 1,2, & 3 pressure) he’s stressing, reflective and catches his Indian daughter in law in his house in the hallway. After a few moments of heartfelt conversation, he tells her or alludes to his struggles to keep the land and ranch and she say’s “You’re The Indian Now” meaning, we went throgh this with the settlers already, I know what it is you’re going through, and this is your battle now, I hope you win it.”
Pretty powerful stuff. Intergenerational suppression across race and culture is a long game.

Love this show. A few subscribers have been deeply offended by the violence. The America I grew up in was that violent. Love and intimate communication brings the Gitino – the magic that comes in dangerous times.
Also a completely different genre. I recommend the healing balm of ‘enchanted april’. I believe it was filmed in 35mm.
Once in a while OK-they’re on the range, real cattle guys, but beyond over the top 3-4 curse words per minute. We made through about a 1/2 hr. of 1st episode. Surprised f word only used once in this 2 min. clip.(rare from what we saw) Too bad looks like some interesting tack tics going on in it. Will have to rely on your interpretation.

This is a great quote. I began watching based on Catherine’s recommendation and really like it. Yes, it is violent but realistic.
