Our heroes this week are Renata and Severin Brodzka, a young and courageous mother and her seven-year-old son who was diagnosed with a serious heart issue at the age of five. Severin’s atrioventricular block (third degree) slows down his heart rate so much that the doctors said he would not survive without a pacemaker.
Rather than going for surgery, which can cause many complications, Renata looked for alternatives and found the Wim Hof Method. To go against the verdict of the heart specialists required tremendous courage and clarity of mind, and more so guiding her child to begin practicing a method that at first does not seem to offer a great deal of childhood fun.
Wim Hof personally helped the duo to start with the method and do the right things to keep Severin’s heart rate up in a natural way. By now, Severin himself knows when he needs an ice bath and a breathing session. Renata, a smart and fully responsible mother with great love for her boy, has been able to spare her son years of repeated surgery. Both deserve our applause.
This is an inspiring testimony and yet another compelling story that speaks for the power of the Wim Hof Method.
