“Are you interested in giving these economic central planners more power over our economy?”
~ Gov. Ron DeSantis
Our Hero of the Week clearly is Governor Ron DeSantis for his announcement of proposed legislation that would expressly forbid any central bank digital currency (CBDC) as money within Florida’s trade laws.
Acting in the wake of the newly erupted banking crisis, the bill introduced would also prohibit “any CBDC by a foreign reserve” and calls on other states to join the pushback.
A federally controlled CBDC would allow the government to see all purchasing and consumer activities, and to limit or fully shut down individual access to goods and services.
The governor’s move and announcement will allow a lot of people to connect the dots between healthy local and community banks and the risks posed by a centralized digital currency.
It would appear that Governor DeSantis has understood everything the Solari Report has written and said about CBDCs and is acting accordingly.
We thank the governor for being a Solari Hero and will be sending him a cap featuring the logo “Make Cash Great Again.”

Grateful for courageous political leaders like Gov Desantis
Look at who funds de Santis – Ken Griffith, Koch Brothers, Bushes – and you will see his masters. He is 94% funded by big donors mostly from Wall Street. You are promoting someone who will do the bidding of his money masters. This is the exact opposite of supporting transaction freedom. I would reflect deeper on this issue. As another commenter put it – Karl Rove is his campaign strategist – my addition is that George Soros operative, Christine Pushaw, is his Media Director.
And the ‘art of the possible’ does not mean saying a few words that hit headlines and promotes the brand and then completely capitulating to will of the donor class. The Disney debacle is just the most obvious example, but there many more. Most of de Santis’ good words are for the sound bites and no backup, but that is the case with all politics and politicians. That is why looking at what they do (which is almost nothing for the population) and not what they say is so critical.
I agree. De Santis is a mixed back. But he gets a Hero of the Week for building a pathway for states to pushback. This one made a difference – even if turns out to be just a headline.
Sorry. Ken Griffith should be Ken Griffen (typo). Here is what just came out about him. https://news.investorturf.com/10000-investors-demand-citadel-securities-ban-from-stock-market-and-ken-griffins-fraud-investigation
Really happy the Solari team recognized our governor. As Floridians and owners of small businesses, my husband and I have felt great consolation with him leading our state. Whenever there was a new threat on the horizon these last few years, he researched and brought sane solutions. Always expressing with clarity and conviction, like with the “digital dollar” phrase. He earned this!
Not so sure about this. No a hero but maybe…. his campaign is now being managed by TurdBlossom, aka Karl Rove, the Bushboy consigliere. He has been endorsed by Jerb Bush, aka “Hanging Chads” and over 90% of his campaign funds come from big corporate donors. He might be decent – certainly the Martha’s Vineyard caper was amuzing, but lots of ???? here, IMHO.
De Santis is a politician moving through the art of the possible – which is limited. Buy doing the press conference, he raised the issue. That will do good. Meantime, it depends on all of us to make much more possible.
He is definitely my hero! Hope Texas follows suite!
I am pretty certain Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt said something to the effect that he will not allow CBDCs in Missouri, not to mention it was Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt that grilled Anthony Fauci for seven hours in a deposition where he got him to admit that there is no science to back up masks or standing six feet apart. Are we not confident that he is serious? I mean Missouri is the only state I know that has a law saying we will ignore all federal anti-gun laws and even though a judge recently ruled against them, there are still a few counties where the sheriffs have ordinances in place that say they will ignore federal anti-gun legislation and those are not affected by the recent ruling that Missouri will be appealing anyway.
What’s up? Where is the love for the Show Me State?
I think part of what drags Missouri down in the ratings is low pension fund funding https://taxfoundation.org/state-pension-funding/ and mid range debt per capita https://www.statista.com/statistics/312681/per-capita-us-state-and-local-government-debt-outstanding-by-state/ – And there are states with much lower tax rates with good state and municipal services https://www.tax-rates.org/taxtables/income-tax-by-state As well as various problems in and around St Louis such as high crime rate https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_cities_by_crime_rate
Does look like the AG is doing great things.
