“In order to condition students, verses set to music and repeatedly intoned, are very effective. It is for a future scientist to make these maxims precise and discover exactly how much it costs per head to make children believe that snow is black.” ~ Bertrand Russell, The Impact of Science on Society
Charlotte Iserbyt, author of The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America, served as Senior Policy Advisor in the Department of Education under the Reagan Administration and was one of the most important whistleblowers of our time. Iserbyt discovered documents from the United Nations (UN) revealing a plan to streamline and intellectually trivialize the populations of the world through the education system.
Although clearly a member of the establishment, Iserbyt had the courage to unmask the UN’s worldwide agenda of removing absolute values of right and wrong that enable independent thinking and problem-solving capacities, and instead instill servile behaviorism that can be molded and conditioned by media and authorities.
Education, she said, was to be changed from content-based knowledge to performance-based behavior in order to train “workers,” not thinkers—and not leaders.
“We’re developing people that are totally dependent upon rewards for doing what the government wants.”
A lady of courage and culture and a great soul, Charlotte Iserbyt’s voice and warnings will continue to resound and wake up many.

Thank you Catherine for this tribute – what a fearless and insightful lady Charlotte was – so much to be grateful to her for, she has left volumes of info for generations to keep learning from.
Bless your soul, Charlotte, and may you rest in Peace of our Lord.
What a magnificent choice.
I purchased Charlotte’s book back in 2002 (it’s now online, up-dated, too, as a pdf). I was a high school history teacher then (now happily retired), with an uneasy feeling about the changes happening in the schools. The book helped me understand where all the changes were coming from. Sadly, instinct told me the years ahead in education would not be bright–enter–Common Core.
I have followed Charlotte’s websites–deliberatedumbingdown.com and americandeception.com–for many years and have felt profoundly hollow since her passing, as I can no longer look forward to new interviews, articles, and insights.
I hope Charlotte’s family realizes the high regard in which she is held, and knows that many will miss her intellect, perception, and sparkle. Truly a life well lived!
God Bless the bravehearts!

This is so true. It makes me weep whenever I think of it.
I got a math degree when I was in college. Later, I had occasion to help the young daughter of some friends of mine, with her “math” homework. She had been so brainwashed that she did not even want to know why addition, subtraction, etc., worked. She just wanted to get the right answer. (I am more than 50 years older than she is.) When it came to long division, I found out the reason she could not do it is because she could not do multiplication either, but she did pass the final exam the year before. So I taught her multiplication first. Then long division. A week later she came back from school very upset with me. While she got the correct answers to homework and tests, she did not do them “the right way.” I never learned what the right way was. She could not explain it, and was not allowed to bring her textbooks home from school. What is the purpose of a textbook left in school?
I, the person who always made hundreds in math, algebra and geometry was appalled while tutoring my young cousin in math to find I literally could not understand the “process” they are teaching to “get the answer”..it was so convoluted I could not figure it out…not to mention the child did not know her multiplication tables..how are they going to buy the best price bread. The next week I tested many of my friends (Im 69) and EVERYONE still remembered their multiplication! We are setting them up for failure
Yes. If people do not know math, they are much easier to trick politically and financially.
Thank you.
