Introduction

Theme “The Pot Calls the Kettle Black”

Money & Markets In Money and Markets, Catherine discusses some of the latest technological innovations around Solar energy. She also covers the elections occurring in Europe, as well as the battles being waged over the internet.

Hero Our heroes this week are the citizens of Löwenstedt, Germany who built a high speed network in their town when outside companies wouldn’t.

Question 1:

Hi Catherine:

Just listened to your discussion with Joseph Farrell. Thank you both for the high intelligence you bring to these subjects that must be brought into the light. In the upcoming space program conference in June, do you have anyone coming who has been given the gift of being able to travel out of their body???? There is a facility on the far side of the moon, but it is highly protected. They can detect the energy field of anyone trying to go there. Men in black have the ability to trace them and I’m sure they are reading this e-mail. But this is an avenue that needs to be explored if the entire space program is to be understood.

Question 2:

A friend shared an announcement about Patriot Act provisions that enable the DHS to go into safety deposit boxes without the knowledge of the owner of the box. The bank is presented with a national security letter that requires bank personnel to give DHS agents access to the box and prevents bank employees from discussing the matter with the owner of the box or with other bank employees. A disgusted BoA employee (who quit) said that trainings were going on (last year?) and they were told they’d lose their jobs if they discussed these with anyone outside the bank.

My bank is phasing out safety deposit boxes. They said they didn’t want to use up space for that and to keep branches smaller. Many other banks doing same. I’m wondering how many do not want to do sneaky things to their customers.

Question 3:

Hi Catherine,
1) In your opinion, does petroleum really come from things like decomposing dinosaurs? If this is really true, why is it only located in great abundance in specific, limited areas of the world?

2) In your opinion, what is the underlying cause of the dramatic rise in the cost of a college education? Have the companies that provide the financing for student loans successfully gotten the government to reduce its overall funding for education, thereby forcing students to take on much larger student loans?

Question 4:

On the subject of Writing, Music and the Creative Process. Check out the Renegade History of America, by Thaddeus Russell. If you are willing to hold your nose, you may witness the glorious efficacy of Natural Law in the most unlikely places. The world is richer for it. I’m jazzed about this topic. Thank you.

Question 5:

Hi Catherine,

In the last Farrell interview, the need for getting the church aligned with, and in support of, the currency was discussed as needed for the success of the monetary system.

I’m unclear how the church participate in or helps support the currency. Is it through acceptance (encouragement) of donations? Perhaps other ways? Can you elaborate?

Also, if you have time.. In a completely unrelated topic, I don’t understand ‘off balance sheet transactions’. Can you explain?

I love your service, can’t get enough!

Thanks again!

PS. Ever consider chatting with Jim Willie? Would be an interesting conversation, I’m sure.

Question 6:

Dear Catherine:

The following article, while being quite intense, I believe brings together a lot of the things you’ve talked about regarding the intentional contamination of our food supply:

Question 7:

Hello Catherine. Last time you were pondering the big decline in Whole Foods Market stock. I listened to their earnings call and another presentation. They’re being pressured by stores like Safeway that are crashing the organic party AND by people growing their own food. That’s good news top and bottom! -don’t you think? From the grass roots and in the limbs. It seems to me that organic food is so mainstream and trendy even -in part because of Whole Foods themselves! – that their stock can’t command a premium valuation the way it used to. As Curly Howard would say: “Ahh.. a victim of their own circumstance.” What to do you think?

Thanks for everything,

Question 8:

Hey Catherine,
Great and level headed analysis as usual! I’ve changed many of my perspectives and financial decisions based on you and your team’s analysis. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you!
I was wondering your thoughts on the ‘tiny house movement’. My wife and I just sold our condo in the Atlanta area (hallelujah!) and actually made a little cash (hallelujah!).! Along the lines of your mantra of “permanently reducing one’s overhead” and my absolute disdain for the thought of “buying” another mortgage in such “slow burn” economic times, I started taking an interest in the tiny house movement about a year and a half ago. I was intrigued at the way people were designing these things, building them and then living debt free or something close to it. My wife and I are debt free and desperately want to stay that way. We see so many things in the tiny house movement that are in line with the way the Solari community is trying to live (i.e. lowering overhead, freeing more time to build community, jettisoning the matrix of working for corporate america, growing our own food).
Here’s the the tiny home design we’re probably going to build: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSzgh3D7-Q0
Not bad for $33,000 completely decked out, eh? I’ve heard of people building them for under $20,000 and even under $10,000 using mostly reclaimed materials.
So, we’re in the process of figuring it out and I was wondering if you or if anyone else in the Solari community had looked into it and what your thoughts were.
Keep the great content coming and come and see us in Atlanta!

Question 9:

Regarding health, how about having Joel Fuhrman speak? I personally started his program for blood pressure but was mortified to lose 20 pounds, which I didn’t particularly need to lose. Some of you out there may want to lose weight. If you do, this is a very healthy way of eating. Also — instead of treating winter colds, why not omit them altogether?

Question 10:

Catherine,
Prayer in local political meetings? What kind of prayer? Would you exclude atheists from local politics? Or are you speaking of a sort of generic call to morality?
This is a nation of many religions and beliefs. What one person believes is ok behavior, I might find “deeply offensive”.
