We had our July 4th Parade this morning. We had our three fire trucks, lots of ATVs brimming with kids and flags and a procession of beautiful, polished tractors and farm equipment. One mysterious gentlemen appeared early this morning with about the most beautiful red tractor I have ever seen with big yellow inner tires. He took off after the caravan circled the town commons before I could find out who he was. One of my neighbors says he was looking to line up at 6:15am and waited until the parade started at 10:30am. Who says life is not full of magic and mystery?

THANKS! I just checked the pictures for the Farmall model, and I believe you are right. It was a beauty, that’s for sure. We will switch in a picture that has red tires, but much closer to what I saw. Someone had done a restoration job on the one I saw that took a lot of love.
Thanks again,
Catherine
The tractor is I believe a Farmall model – either a Massey or a McCormick (different names at different times for the same company). It’s an excellent little tractor. I don’t know when they were made, but I drove one for mowing hay in the 70’s and 80’s on my farm at the time in northern Canada. The tractor at that time was already “old”. Quite a few have survived. My brother in Colorado has restored one of these – which he sometimes has driven in community parades! (But not this year.) It’s a delight to read this little story and I’m forwarding it to him. Thanks! Maggie
