What a well spoken, thoughtful & knowledgeable person.
Spitzers personal affairs should be just that.
Since Obama turned out to be a Wall St puppet, we desperately need Eliot back.
Geez, of course it wasn’t about the sex! It was never about the sex.
While I haven’t seen this 4-part series (at work still…) and think
Mr. Zakaria would be better off filtering already pure water, I
personally believe Spitzer’s undoing was his bold pushback against
OCC (Executive Office of the Comptroller of the Currency) and
Fed vs. State control of lending rates, laws, and enforcement.
(See, e.g. Greg Palast, “Eliot’s Mess” http://www.gregpalast.com (March 14, 2008)
Eliot (“Client #9”) pushed back against OCC, hard, (early ’08) one time
too many, and he was taken out a month or two later. “Spitzered”
Now, perhaps there is a Federal Slime Tentacle from AIG/Dept. of Goldman Sachs
and OCC that wraps this up nicely? I don’t know.
So…back to the sex!…while it would sure be fun to know which other
“clients” were being tracked, but…that’s about it.
My dad had a saying – “boy, you talk good but you talk too much.”
Aha Moment: AIG + Goldman Sachs = the Eliot Hit (a.k.a. “Boy, you talk good but you talk too much”)
Poor Eliot. I guess it wasn’t about the sex after all (http://solari.com/blog/?p=677).
