  3. Catherine, and friends……the letter supposedly sent by Trump talking about wearing masks has a heading that I recognize as a
    pretend solicitation from the Republican National Committee which includes a Trump/Pence square box in red, white and blue. They are asking for money; and I seriously doubt that Donald Trump had anything to say as suggested in the manner it was written in. I get these all day long, and I suggest anyone wanting to send money to Trump; send it directly to a site that is more legitimate. There are many scams going around about all this, and this seems to be one of them.

    basically, china is adopting a strategy of focusing inward on the domestic market and strategic foreign markets.

    it doesn’t match the rhetoric though. we’re getting a bipolar idea of china, at once threatening the world and also at the brink of internal collapse. I think neither of those is an accurate view. if Trump has managed to put China back in the box within 2 years /2018 was start of trade war/, and if the CCP itself has decided to forego expansion / abandon globalization, then how big of a threat could China have been? it sure folded fast.

    On the other hand, there is a silent war going on, this word has been used in several speeches by China government people. strange stuff happening as you mentioned with weather, food, etc. But there is no real vision or even semi serious discussion of an alternative to the CCP. No think tank that I know of or a US govt person has made any serious proposal or study of what alternative ruling structure would look like. So is the aim just chaos? Even when they invaded Iraq they had a plan for a government. And here according to Barr, Pompeo, Wray, this is an existential threat. But no plan for how a victory condition would look? I’m confused.

    It looks to me the opposite. China is fragile externally but extremely stable internally. interesting to see where this goes.

  6. Unbidden, Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio Bureau of Workmen’s Compensation, a mandatory insurance fund, sent my business three pounds of masks with no explanation. A sharp-eyed co-worker noticed THEY ARE MADE IN CHINA (makes a C-shape with his thumb and index finger).

    Although the story may be apocryphal, I think most of us are familiar with the tale of American Indians being supplied with smallpox-soaked blankets, so given the state of escalating and ever-more-devastating dirty tricks between US and China, it does seem creepy to me. I am quite persuaded that masks do little to nothing in terms of COVID-19 prevention, and I feel personally suffocated while wearing one, especially knowing that hypoxia might make me susceptible to all kinds of respiratory ailments, to say nothing of it being a sign of submission.

      1. This seems like a spoof of an email for one thing. I have never seen a real email from Donald J. Trump and this doesn’t sound at all like him. Total amateur imitation. If Trump wanted to communicate something like this, it would be in one of his frequent press conferences, which would then be carried forth by the corporate news organs, who would spin it like a Maytag on heavy wash.

          2. Either way, I am not into it, so if it brands me unpatriotic, that’s how it has to be. I wear one to get into places if I have to but that’s about it. Islam is submission. I am an infidel.

        There is a lot of stuff I just do not understand. I am feeling very perplexed.

        I do understand the getting squeezed. It’s the whole insanity of it all I don’t get(or don’t want to get).

On the mask topic of “wear/not to wear”, I’m wearing it more so now because not wearing it seems to cause a great deal of panic and fear in some people; an instant panic button where they completely lose all good sense. The sheer animal panic in their eyes and body language is immediately palpable.

        There are increasing episodes of violence happening between mask/no mask evangelists. At this point, I don’t feel like I’m helping advance our cause by refusing to wear it. Yesterday at the vet, my friend and I were not wearing masks, nor any of the staff. However, an older gentleman then entered the building wearing a mask. My friend and I both took our masks out of our purses and put them on. We did so as a gesture of respect for him and whatever his condition may be. I don’t think we spared him any coronavirus–but I do think we reduced the level of stress he was feeling sitting across from us in the waiting room, at a time when he was already anxious and worried about his beloved companion.

        Now–places like California where they want you to wear it OUTSIDE…That’s another level. But California is quickly going downhill anyway, and if you’re still there, you should really evaluate your reasons for staying there–and what it would take for you to leave.

        1. I am in Germany. It is required to go in the grocery store or mall – where I had to go yesterday to get my phone working. We were dinged because we had a see through mask. A BAS security guard explained that plexiglass masks which allowed you to see the persons face were not permitted to qualify as masks. They could not explain why. If it is not required by law, I will not wear. If that causes someone else stress, they are free to avoid me. I will not encourage brainwashing and mind control or respect other than safety issues. If someone is mind controlled, I will do my best to simply avoid them. I am under no obligation to support fantasy.

            Is there another way to do this that, when masks are required, can send the message? A mask with PLACEBO written on it?

            That is one thing about the US so far that exposes, as you say, the fantasy of the whole thing. There are no standards and ANY face covering seems to be ok. I saw a woman at costco wearing a belly dancer’s beaded belt across her face and mouth. They let her in no problem.

            As for obligation to support fantasy–I don’t feel obligated per se. I feel scared. You have been saying for months how we need to have a plan for “zombie management” as they can become quite dangerous. This has now become part of my “zombie management”, and I suspect possibly for other subscribers as well. If that is absolutely the wrong thing to do, please advise.

            At first, I was doing the civil disobedience thing and shaking my fist when required to wear the mask. That has changed recently. Now I feel no pang. Now when I put it on, I feel as though the mask is my “cover” to navigate through enemy territory without being detected.

            The stress level here on the mainland is very high–I know people who have returned from countries with extremely draconian restrictions (no driving!), got on a diplomatic flight back home, and immediately felt they had made a terrible mistake due to the level of tension here. People are completely losing their minds–to such a degree that I want to blame it on 5G; but I actually think it’s the “squeeze” and fear and mind-control and cognitive dissonance and complete breakdown of normal life and people are LOSING IT.

          2. My way of dealing with Zombie management is to just turn tail and depart. I decline to engage.

            There is no right way. We each have to use our intuition – although comparing notes help. Our time and energy is precious. So use your precious time and energy to achieve your vision, your goals.

            Rock and Roll time. There are no rules. Just navigation tools, skills and intelligence that help us navigate.

          3. Interesting about the plexiglas mask. Is there some agenda to prevent communication by body language? The isolation is getting pretty bad. My friend in Belgium said her mother-in-law was having a lot of sadness from the isolation. It’s inhumane and cruel.

            As far as respecting mask wearers it’s sort of like a vaxx. If you are masked or vaxxed why does it matter if I am not. You are protected so leave me be.

            I like breathing Oxygen.

    2. I am kind of familiar with this mask situation. The fact is unless you are a major hospital system or the like, the surgical or n95 masks you are getting are not medical grade. The supply of the medical grade stuff is too small and does not trickle down to the public. If you want to get masks from somewhere else other than China, forget it. Majority of mask export countries have strict export controls and anyway that supply is locked down by governments and major medical buyers.

      So you have these masks which are made in china, but not qualified for medical use. The main difference is the middle layer made of impermeable melt blown plastic. Likely in the public masks that layer is either not water proof or not correct specifications. Likely just a dust layer. The rest of the mask is same as the medical grade, but fails the test for reason of the middle layer.

      There was an interesting boom for masks around Feb and March with lots of Chinese factories getting into this business and making great money. But the market collapsed by April and now these people cannot sell the masks anymore because hospitals etc. cannot accept them. When you heard that some hospital received substandard masks and rejected the shipment, they probably got the same masks which were delivered to your door. Same look but not water proof. Hate to be cynical but maybe that was a shipment rejected by your local hospital system that is now being redistributed to the public.

      you can still use them to go out, if you wish, just don’t take them to a shift at the virus ward.

      1. Andrzej, you are probably right, but the meta-message is that our lame-ass government thought sending us masks that we’d be bound to question would be a good thing. I never expect to get anything from BWC other than bills. So, what’s up with masks? From China!

        1. yea you are right, that seems to be the message. funny.

          I’m guessing it was cheaper to dump the non conforming masks off on you than to pay the storage cost. and they didn’t have to mark the transaction as a “loss” because the hospital couldn’t use the masks. instead it was a successful public outreach effort. the state govt saves face! of course they meant to order those masks for local businesses! a true win-win!

    They really are making serfs of us all. Direct cash payments. This will lift off inflation and keep the real and paper assets\ afloat. While also buying off the bottom 50% serf class from uprising.   8. A thank you Catherine: A while back you shared about the “medical” excess of life saving services near the end of life. Your shared wisdom and ‘Managing End-of-Life with Jo Kline Cebuhar’ helped us. A family member had a medical emergency and the an oncology group tried to line up services that were not appropriate. During our emergency your wisdom and a non profit Palliative care hospital employee saved the family member from further discomfort that would provide no good outcome. Grateful.

    I had a friend go to Walmart and his total was $39.77 and they asked him to make it $40 because of the coin shortage. He said no, and asked them to put the $0.23 on a gift card. They did.

    So I did some quick research and math. Yes, I am an accountant.. that’s what we do. The average number of transactions in a single Walmart store per week is 4000. There are about 4800 Walmart stores in the US. That would be an average of 998,400,000 transactions per year.

    If they got an extra $0.23 per transaction, that would be an additional $229,632,000 in annual revenue.

    If we use an average, say $0.50, that would be an additional $499,200,000 in revenue. A half a billion dollars!

    There is no coin shortage.

    I have a 20 page letter, thesis, proposal written for you and Joseph and quite a few other from Peak Prosperity to Zero Hedge (?) You mentioned in your interview with one of the “guys” that it was time to take sides. I believe your audience, along with many others (Giza et al), is too small. I have a proposal which may either faint or fly contingent upon the cooperation of the other sites I have in mind. Think of Knights of the Round Table, and a robust non political dialog and the one place where people can acquire information at any point along the continuum.
