“The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens. By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion: So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.” ~ Proverbs 3:19

A wonderful Solari Report subscriber sent in a question: “Why are you an optimist?” I started to answer in the Ask Catherine segment of my weekly Money & Markets commentary, but then I realized that the question deserved a more thoughtful response. So, as the year draws to a close, I describe why I am an optimist.

One reason is because I was born with the power to invent my world. When I exercise that power, all of creation is available to help—angels, birds, trees, people. Our shared living intelligence and the divine intelligence create civilization together.

When the current round of globalization began, Sir James Goldsmith declared that the establishment had declared war on society. And so it has—2020 was the year when that fact finally became widely obvious. This means that 2021 is a year in which we must wage war. We must do our best despite what have become long odds, now that the establishment has engineered a financial coup d’état and commands invisible weaponry—hidden behind centuries of secrecy—that many of us cannot yet fathom.

First and foremost, this is a spiritual war. One of the greatest weapons that we have in such a war is our faith and its companion, optimism. The philosopher Heraclitus said, “If you do not hope, you will not win that which is not hoped for.” Goethe said, “I love those who yearn for the impossible.” For this holiday season, I have faith in the possibility of “Peace on Earth, Good Will Toward Men” because I am an optimist and because, as a risk manager, I know it to be possible—though not easy. Marcus Aurelius said, “What we do now echos in eternity.” Even if it takes 1,000 years, I’m all in.

Our Christmas season has begun. Check out our Holiday Greetings here. This week, we launch our first Christmas movie and music selections. Then, for the last three weeks of the year, we will publish our picks for Best of the Solari Report while the Solari Report team enters the intense period that leads to our publication of our 2020 Annual Wrap Up in January. The Best of the Solari Report selections will inspire you to enjoy the rich intelligence offered this year.

In Let’s Go to the Movies, our first Christmas movie pick, The Man Who Invented Christmas, is a charming movie about Charles Dickens’ writing of The Christmas Carol. As the central bankers throw the world into the global financial invention room, it’s a good time to dream up the warming of Scrooge’s heart.
