  4. So…it seems strange to me that Banks are going after crypto. When I worked at a big NYC Bank associated with Hamilton that merged with a Bank in PA, they had a crypto session for women and were encouraging women to get digital wallets and invest in BitCoin. Why? They also assured us that regulation is coming and that they “know” about every single transaction.
    And EH was prominently on their website, along with Milken. Go figure.

    As to a good ‘dumb phone’ – i can enthusiastically recommend the Sunbeam Orchid flip phone. I’ve been using one for a year and a half now with great results. Main thing is the Sunbeam is 4G so you don’t have to fend off the ‘3G is going away’ prob. The voice to text option ($3/mo) is crucial and better than my iPhone. Has decent driving directions and weather and all for $200. And if you break one? buy a refurbed one, send your old one back (on their dime) and get a get a $125 refund. net = $75! Can’t beat that, i just did it! Between the Orchid and a Faraday Defense EMF bag, I am almost weaned of a smart phone, but not quite

  7. Howdy. I never know if it’s a good idea to talk about the potential risks of what look like fabulous things. Sometimes i wonder if it jinxs them.

    Anyway, at the risk of jinxing stuff, if i were the overlords, and time was on my side, I’d be good with letting jurisdictions show their true colours. Indeed, far better to collect all the dissidents in a few regions, rather then have them spread all over.

    Indeed, herein lies the dilemma. Take a hard stand, and risk being a collection site for rebels which can then be easily herded, or worse, getting the message that Lytton BC got when Dr. Hoffe starting speaking up.

    Fiona was not natural, and even now, more then six months later, there are over 20,000 homes with roofs in need of repair. We just had a snap election, and the bizarre majority will now likely bring in fun stuff like UBI and digital ID.

    Pushing back also comes with risks, and i find it difficult to find the balance.

  8. RV living segment is my next listen. I’m actually going slightly different by converting a retired lobster boat into a hybrid houseboat/floating shop that i can use to sell produce and products around our region. (I’m on an island)

    My big question is moving around jurisdictions. Within Canada is pretty easy via water, but I’m curious about other regions.

  9. Howdy. A comment regarding the rise in dumbphone sales.

    I would add a note or two of caution.

    First, it is my experience that whenever a story with nearly identical text appears in a myriad of mainstream places, all at the same time, that story is approved, and thus useful to the narrative in some way.

    Second, a closer look at the rise in sales doesn’t clearly indicate that Gen Z is rejecting smart tech. The following quote from one of the articles highlights that battery, durability, and affordability are the primary driving factors in demand, combined with the “cool factor” of being used by celebs.

    Article – “Finally, apart from the way feature phones allow people to go back to simpler mobile phone uses, there are three other appealing factors that these phones have. The first is that, unlike smartphones where battery life is a concern thanks mainly to apps running in the background, dumbphone battery life is generally longer. Secondly, it is hard to deny that a dumbphone is usually more durable. In the hopefully rare situation where one drops them, they are hard to break. The third one is simple: feature phones are cheaper than smartphones. One won’t break the bank upgrading or replacing phones when needed. ”

    The new dumbphones are not necessarily unplugged from the surveillance grid. They just have less features or apps, in exchange for lower cost etc.

    Your friends who are getting the threats from their cell phone providers are likely using actual old dumbphones, which don’t have current operating systems, or the bandwidth to run on current networks. The new “dumbphones” are actually not that dumb. ?

    I have a teenage son and these kids are savvy and tech loaded. They have many ways to interact, and are fair more willing to ditch a piece or style of tech then us older folks. They are digital natives, and they are inheriting this new digital world. How they adapt will be interesting.

    1. A small phone that looks like a classic dumbphone, but is still running Android, is just a smartphone with higher profit margin, comparable surveillance and less features/value for users.

      Finland’s Nokia (Symbian/Meego) and Canada’s RIM (Blackberry OS) both made their share of mistakes and corporate missteps, but there was no reason for their billion-dollar businesses to disappear entirely. At least they could have retreated into expensive niches like keyboard phones.

      One defensive approach is to use the dumbphone as an untrusted LTE+WiFi hotspot that is always assumed compromised. Connect to it from a Wi-Fi only iOS tablet or iPod touch, which has a VPN and uses an encrypted messenger like Signal or Wire. Enable iOS Lockdown mode. That closes off many attack surfaces and avoids a SIM (with government identity tracking) on the device from which messages are sent. The SIM-carrying phone becomes an untrusted pipe.

      1. Too complicated. That’s why I guess people want a ‘smart’ phone.’ Isn’t there an option with all of these features that I don’t have to know about? People are force to learn things they just don’t want to learn. Plus, as the population ages this will be futile. I saw it with my mother. She could use cell / smart phones just fine, until she couldn’t.

        1. Anyone who “wants a phone” is someone who “wants to play electronic warfare”. Electronic warfare reality is complicated. The House usually wins.

          This lesson can be learned cheaply, or at great cost in time by chasing phone fairy tales and being disappointed after burning $$ on vendor narratives.

          The simple option is a desktop computer and printer for daily schedules. Use paper. Carry no phone, or carry a phone that is turned off in a faraday bag, for emergencies only.

    First, you get folks to lose faith in them because of Problem A, then you introduce Solution B, the reliable, honest, infinitely better tech based blah blah blah. Same for democracy.

  11. In the discussion on J&J ‘s legal battle with buyers being knowingly poisoned, I appreciated the conversation going into a positive for the U.S. Court system. While many things seem hopeless, there are glimmers of justice still occurring. On the same note of being chronically poisoned, it was announced that former Nevada City Mayor and recent CA governor candidate Reinette Senum is partnering up with a legal team including Deanna Pollard and evidence professors to go against Aerosol Spraying (chem trails) in the United States. This is long overdue. It applies to not just buyers of a product but to the soil, water, air, food, and humans and animals’ very own neurological system. May it bring the truth to a long-standing issue across the globe and clear our skies once and for all.

  12. In the discussion on Artificial Intelligence, John mentions the movie “The Terminator”. While good, I think a better reference would be the 1960’s movie “Colossus: The Forbin Project”. In it, a master computer in the U.S., Colossus, joins with a master computer in Russia, Guardian, which then dictates how the world will be run, including its creator, Dr. Forbin. Eyes and ears everywhere. Often times when I am on the internet, especially when I see references to Siri and Alexa, I remember the famous line from Colossus in the movie, “this is the voice of computer control”. While a bit far-fetched in 1968 when I was a kid, it is much more relevant today. And, yes, it is available on DVD because I borrowed it from my local public library.

    RFK’s announcement to run in 2024 has caused excitement, but I think there is more than a 50-50 chance there will be no 2024 Presidential election.

  15. As a Jyotishi (Vedic Astrologer) I second the lady who expressed concern about RFK’s announcement two days prior a solar eclipse.
    It’s absolutely not a good idea and guaranteed to end badly, but not surprising at all. It is well known amongst astrologers in India that the Kennedy’s carry an ancestral “curse”, they all have it in their charts. It’s easy to clean up but since there most likely is no knowledge nor any means to think with this, it’s quite pointless to mention, but I thought I do it anyways. Interestingly, if he would make the announcement a day after the eclipse on the 22nd, it actually would be very auspicious, traditionally wars, battles or fights are very powerful a day after a solar eclipse and were timed accordingly in ancient days. Nobody would have dreamed to start anything in an eclipse orb, very, very, very bad idea. Sadly nobody will listen to an astrologer in these fallen times. Anyways, I wish him well, he will make an outstanding president.

  28. I got a chuckle over the NY Times photo of the tank in Ukraine. The man in the foreground pointing, and looking official, is Henry who is in leadership with the Georgians. I recognized him from pictures my son has shared from Ukraine and he confirmed it. The Georgians are a volunteer group from the country of Georgia, grifters basically, who con young men from other countries into coming over to “fight”. For the most part they don’t get into the war but collect donations from foreign aid groups. They create impressions of being active in the conflict. At the beginning of the war they sent their “volunteers” to various villages to “train” the locals in combat. It’s such a farce; mostly harmless fortunately. Foreign volunteers are young men without military experience so perhaps the Georgians provide a service by keeping them out of the war but that is not their purpose. Leadership is living the high life with drugs, booze and donations. I don’t think they’re connected with Ukraine’s military.

By the way, that particular month and date has been stigmatized by Homeland Security as a supposedly popular event for militias and white supremacists. In anticipation of some of the commentary on this Money and Markets, I would like to propose perhaps an unorthodox explanation of what is arising with the unanticipated conjunction of China, Russia, and others seemingly against the US and the West. I think that whom is being opposed in this case is Mr Global, who has successfully captured the governments of the West.

    I do not think it would be in the interests of the putative eastern bloc to destroy the West, but it is definitely in their interests to destroy Mr Global. I think with an overwhelming alignment as has been developing, Mr Global’s plans are thwarted. I do not believe that China or Russia, or Iran, India, Indonesia and so forth are willing servants of Mr Global. He has abused America to the point of refusal, and now the pendulum swings back, first with little force, and then with irresistible force. America has been depleted in this idiotic Ukraine War, and therefore Mr Global does not have a powerful or resolute ally in the hegemony of America.

    Donald Trump’s interview with Tucker Carlson shows that he would be a far better leader of the US than the beholden Biden camp. A US with reasonable foreign and economic policies is much more valuable to the productive capacity of the Eastern bloc and for that reason, I believe that is what is sought by them. It is my position that neither China nor Russia seek friends, only reasonable rivals. The US has proven to be irrational these past couple years. They need to change that.

The WHO’s proposed modifications to International Health Regulations is an important part of Mr. Global’s plan to install Digital IDs, as it would allow the WHO to mandate vaccine passports during an “emergency”.

    Did I share this with you before about bird chirping? Chirping of birds triggers the stomata of trees and plants leaves to open and receive micronutrients of the leaves to stimulate plant growth.

    The first 10 years of moving to Tennessee I planted over 150 trees and scrubs in the lawn to attract birds and give them a home. I enjoy hearing their activity as dawn is breaking and especially when they are deciding which tree to settle in for the night. I guess over the years many hundreds of baby birds were born in trees I planted.

Review Trump’s inaugural speech and watch at the beginning when a group of military people walk up behind Trump. As they stand there for 45 seconds listen to what Trump says about bring the power back to the people. As the military people are standing behind Trump look at the closest two military people flanking Trump and look at their caps. The military guy on Trump’s right is wearing an aquamarine cap (military intel) the one on Trump’s left side is wearing an adjutant general cap. Why would Donald Trump have these two branches standing shoulder to shoulder with him? IMO there has been a great deal of military activity going on with other nations to try to thwart the ones committing corruption as we are about to switch to a new type of currency.

        I grew up on a New Jersey farm and working at the age of 5 picking tomatoes. Got a nickel for each basket. Looking back I probably didn’t appreciate being raise on a farm as a kid especially during the summer months missing my schoolmates. I didn’t see how special it was to live in a quiet environment. After being a guest of Uncle Sam for a couple of years and living in Los Angeles for 25 years I guess I realized how special it was being close to nature.
        Got a movie to recommend to you and Solari. “Chuck Leavell: The Tree Man”. Most people never heard of Chuck Leavell, but anyone who closely follows rock and roll knows he is an excellent piano player and well respected by musicians. Chuck is also a tree farmer in Georgia.

    At what point do they get viewed as guns for hire?
    I recently dug into some data from the UK’s Office for National Statistics, and some of the data stunned me. One possible explanation is that those under 50 are neither going to hospitals nor seeing doctors to the point where half are dying outside the NHS.

    1. much of modern Western medicine kills or maims people, at least turning them into repeat customers. *not* going to hospitals or seeing doctors is not necessarily a bad thing. there are *many* better healing choices if people choose to explore. breathing, real food, and herbs are excellent places to find healing, even from “chronic” ailments like diabetes which can absolutely be healed with proper food.

  40. Creepy tech, suddenly much scarier. For fun I make doll clothes and tell stories with 18 inch dolls and photograph them and post on Instagram to amuse other doll people and also use IG to see my friends and family. Now I am banned, must appeal, and am instructed to upload a selfie of my face and hands holding a paper with a verification code on it. Don’t have a smart phone, can’t take a selfie. I guess I’m done with IG.
    And a new Mastercard came, to be authorized before use, with enhanced services including constantly surveying the surface, deep, and dark webs to protect me in case any of my data might be found there.
    Is this all because I might vote for RFK Jr.?
