    1. Yes, of course. But what does it say about Powell that he would have made more than $100MMM at Carlyle given where it really came from and be willing to do this? Pretty frightening.

      1. where did the money made at Carlyle really come from?
and why would any of that make him embarrassed to wear a mask, which is what the Fed wants us all to do? shame does not seem to be an attribute of Fed chairs, at least not since Volcker.

  1. Referring to my comment made last week. I was not trying to say that Christianity was never advanced through force. Sometimes, that is necessary in order that the Gospel be received. A case in point is the Aztecs, who were ritualistic cannibals. In this regard, I recommend John Eidmoe’s book: “Columbus & Cortez, Conquerors for Christ.”

I meant that in China. It was provided by English and American missionaries. It was not advanced by the Opium Wars in which a Jewish merchant, a Mr. Sassoon, was compensated by the Chinese government for the goods of his which they had earlier seized.

  2. So, now, The Russians! are interfering with OUR PANDEMIC! The Lefties at The New York Times report “The science looks like it was done impeccably well,” said Naor Bar-Zeev of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Hilariously, The Democrats are now OPPOSING VACCINES for coronavirus, another deft Jiu-jitsu move by Trump. So, anti-vax will probably be restored as a permissible topic on social media. And once again, inept DNC planning will be left with only the destructive, crude and ineffective option of mayhem to further their coup attempt. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/04/health/russia-covid-vaccine.html

      1. Perhaps, but it becomes possible to speak against vaccination in mixed or polite company. I consider it a victory for freedom. And honestly, other than the cancellation of my planned Italian tour and some extended visits by adult children, life has been within the range of normal for me. I know it’s not universally that way and I object to any curtailment of liberty, but I believe that the lockdown has the unintended effect of being worse for those who would assent to a globalist agenda, with a resulting decline of support for such foolishness, a good thing, by my lights.

        1. Good point. May apply for US, but globally, ff you look at the starvation statistics – which I assume are not reliable – hundreds of millions will pay a serious price who were not assenting to the globalist agenda.

          1. Your perspective on that is better than mine, and I think that fact is at once testimony to what is often derided as American “privilege,” and simultaneously what history has conspicuously dealt to the world’s less well-run lands. All the more reason NOT to destroy America, if I may humbly say.

  3. Catherine:
Thank you for the gracious way you came to the defense of the boomers and elderly. Many of us were/are part of a group of people who worked hard, paid taxes and donated time most of our lives. I would add that Mr. Global is not only stripping us of assets and a lifetime of work, “they” are stripping our children and grandchildren of that work too. It is with great sadness I see some of young blame us for robbing them of their future….many of us tried to leave it better but didn’t see we were a just a game piece. As are they…..
I love that you work to show us the game board.

    1. Yes, Mr. Global has always done a great job at getting the young to pull the rug out from under themselves.

  4. Catherine,

Instead of suing state municipalities, is it possible to sue governors and/or mayors be sued directly? Can I sue Andrew Cuomo directly for forcing me to wear a mask?

I’m half way through the audio and I’ll listen in the morning but I agree with John suing the musicality is useless. It’s hurting Main Street and taxes will only going up. Personality suing douchebags like Cuomo who write executive orders like can’t throw darts in a bar (what the hell does that have to do with Covid???), whether potato chips is considered as “food”, and restaurants serving food in the street just to stay alive as a business personally affects each business, so why can’t I financially affect him?

  5. I really hope people are paying attention to the judicial elections that may be occurring in your area. I am noticing that if Judges, who believe in the radical left agenda, and who will rule in favor of government. Usually judicial elections are controlled by the local political party in control. That party has the political networks in place. Make sure you pay attention and get involved because your judges are the ones making the law in your county.

    1. Professional associations for lawyers are another vehicle of influence, e.g. State Bars in the US. Last year, a small group of lawyers were able to reverse a Canada-wide legal policy. Much can be learned from their success. Their final silver bullet was a private vote, https://financialpost.com/opinion/this-lawyer-was-determined-to-stop-the-law-societys-forced-statement-of-principles/wcm/70fc1e98-62b9-4e93-90de-4953084058a7/amp/

“the Law Society of Ontario, a body that few realize even exists. The society had in 2017 started compelling lawyers and paralegals to state their adherence to the dogma of substantive equality, diversity and inclusion in order to be in compliance with requirements for their licence. Such pledges have become commonplace — even university applications now require a diversity statement — and getting rid of them is unheard of. Once social-justice ideology takes hold of an institution there is little to be done. But in a stunning vote by its members, the LSO’s compulsory equality/diversity/inclusion statement was rejected. In today’s cultural landscape it is a small but impossible victory.

Given the opportunity to vote in private, lawyers rejected SJW mandates that they had publicly signed.

“They say the center doesn’t hold—all this activism and conflict hollows out the middle as people tire of being involved, especially when they are personally under attack. That’s part of the activist playbook too—but the center has to hold. If you know what you’re dealing with, you can prepare yourself. Ordinary citizens, and especially thinkers and leaders like yourselves, need to step up before this country becomes toxic and unlivable, with people speaking their opinions only in hushed whispers around their kitchen tables and everyone forced to conform with the prevailing orthodoxy. I believe 2020 will be the year that the balance begins to shift, when we stop merely tweeting about all the craziness, and when sensible men and women who value our free and liberal society roll up their sleeves and get to work. They can’t cancel all of us.”

The NY State Bar tabled their vote for mandatory vaccinations until November 7th. How can someone file a legal challenge if all the lawyers in a state are influenced/constrained by their State Bar Association? https://nysba.org/state-bar-associations-health-law-section-report-calls-for-mandatory-covid-19-vaccination-standards-for-allocating-ventilators-and-personal-protective-equipment/

There were demonstrations and pushback against the report:

      1. Excellent examples. I covered the NY State Bar when it happened. Will post the Ontario info. Great input as always, Rich. Thanks!

  6. I have a suggestion for an interview. The topic would be “Human Capital Bonds and the 4th Industrial Revolution” with Alison McDowell. She is extraordinarily knowledgeable on this subject.
