The ethanol team at the Financial Permaculture conference is amazing. I was in their session last night led by Pat Therrien who manages to combine encylopedia-like knowledge with a sense of humor. She also has sympathy for people like me who don’t understand every third word as she explains the opportunity for farm communities in both ethanol and biodiesal.
We will be posting Pat’s handouts and materials this coming week.
Albert Bates is the permaculturalist assigned to the team. He started talking about biochar. He said it was really, really important to learn about it. And so that is what I am going to do. Albert suggested that we start with the wikipedia entry here.
Peter Huber tells me that theres a LIST of important commodities that would be great to have during hard times…..that was floating around the Conference or perhaps someone mentioned it at the workshop. Do you know where that LIST is?
thanks
