  4. I have to disagree with paying off your mortgage as a generic strategy. The fixed rate mortgage has been fantastic for most families, especially at low rates. It’s the only thing that protects against inflation for the average person, and also can afford protection against confiscation, since generally, the bank has the larger claim to the asset.

    For many people retiring, it’s probably a good strategy to pay the mortgage off since it would be easier to hold onto your primary residence being free and clear.

    However, if you’re still working and career prospects are ok, in other words, your income is secure, better to spend the cash on assets, ie another house, collectibles, etc.

      I agree that it should not be a generic strategy. If you have the earning capacity to cover the mortgage in a reasonable worst case, it is much more attractive to continue to operate the leverage. It comes down to the risks you are comfortable living with.

About homeschooling, I think the majority of homeschool families used to be opposed to institutional education on principle (religious or, rarely, political) or for practical reasons (due to some injury to their children). I believe most took homeschooling very seriously. In fact,I never met a homeschool parent who didn’t.

    We are into another generation of parents now who grew up with the interwebs. Soon we’ll have the next generation of parents that, horrors, grew up with smart phones.

    These new generations are oblivious to the dangers of electronic babysitters. They do not understand the harm they are doing to their children. It is absolutely astonishing, and depressing.

    We always say the best decision we ever made was homeschooling, and a close second was getting rid of the tv. In fact, we couldn’t have effectively homeschooled with a tv in the house. We also didn’t have a computer for the children until they were teenagers, and that was severely limited.

    Parents must get rid of both since these electronic babysitters are an extension of govt and govt schooling. And the technology is inherently damaging, it pretty much doesn’t matter what they’re watching.

    I’m trying to convince my son in law that children shouldn’t have smart phones. He said that as soon as they take a school bus, they need one. I said, “First of all, why would your children take a school bus? For most of my schooling, we didn’t. And when we finally did, obviously none of us had smart phones. Some how we survived.” I could tell he never thought about that before. Wow. It’s the fish not noticing the water.

    Will you post the strategies/enacting language you are using at various locales to encourage jurisdictions to commit to financial transaction freedom? As you go, and/or in a Special Report or both… Do you suggest starting at the county level before going to the state or in reverse order?

  9. Someone asked a question about spraying chemtrails. I have to assume some are for what is in the Clifford Carnicom article but also for weather manipulation. When we moved to the mountains of VA we had beautiful blue skies the first year. This year, we suffered a very bad drought, with water sources drying up that have never dried up before. Before every forecast rain event, the skies are criss-crossed with trails. I also have pictures. This week we have a heavy rain/snow forecast and the spraying/trails were constant all day for 2 days (and sometimes I see them in the sky before the sun comes up over the mountains). Sadly our legislature went left further after the november elections and I see little way to get it stopped over VA. I hope TN has more luck.

    1. I recently started to observe the same thing in East Texas: chem trails a few days before rain in the forecast.

  10. Hong Kong son and wife reported at Thanksgiving in NJ, that they have now had business trips to factories in China, after 3 1/2 years. The differences: No Cash at all, and hardly any foreigners wherever they went.
    My husband is selling his comic books as planned in retirement. He says prices on the key issues are way beyond what most long time collectors and fans can pay, $100,000 where $3,000 might have been tops. He wonders where the money is coming from, and why.

    1. maybe a flight from the monetary system. people don’t want to have cash balances now due to 1. inflation, 2. the Big Money Grab that everybody thinks (knows) is coming.

      1. While a big money grab is a possible scenarios, thousands and thousands of little money grabs are much more lucky. Ongoing now.
