“The contemplation of things as they are without error or confusion, without substitution or imposture, is in itself a nobler thing than a whole harvest of invention.”
– Francis Bacon

Why a study and perspective of Islam is necessary ….
Muslims are increasing more than any other religious group in the world. Their growth rate is four times faster than Christians. Presently, those who practice Islam make up approximately one-fifth of the world’s population. One Bible teacher from England, after reviewing current demographics, commented that, “if present trends continue, half of all global births will be in Muslim families by the year 2055”. Something revolutionary is happening before our eyes, and most Western Christians are oblivious to it. Not only are Muslims the fastest growing religious group in the world, but also in the United States, Canada and Europe, with Europe perhaps being the model of where Canada and then the United States are heading shortly after.
Any simple examination of the present birth rates of the native Europeans versus Europe’s Muslim immigrant population leads us to one very clear and ominous conclusion: the Europe we have known is very quickly changing into what some refer to as Eurabia, where Europe will soon find itself under the power and control of Islam. The following short clip will show you just where our world is heading from a purely demographic point of view:

Sounds good. But we are subjective beings – in our observations and contemplations we bring to the table our worldview, perception, prejudices and judgments based on our conditioning. While the scientific method which Bacon is accredited with having a lot to do with is supposed to remove these to create an “objective state,” – the very way in which we view nature and its purpose to us (i.e. are we above and in control and dominating and hence separate from or integral, part of and holistically part of) has alot to do with what we see and what we create and what we will allow to happen. The scientific combined with the elitist view of man above nature has created the technological and oppressive “dictatorship” that we find our selves in the grips of. Permaculture – if viewed in the proper way – should give us clues as to how we can work with and respect that which we are apart of rather than to view nature and by default others below us in the manmade hierarchies as separate, and valueless except for their productive capacity to us and hence slaves to our will.
