This week, our hero is Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, for introducing an executive order to mandate the use of gender-specific terms when describing women.
“We are taking a stand against woke nonsense,” Sanders stated, moments before she signed the executive order, which included the following: “All state offices, departments, boards, and commissions are prohibited from using exclusionary, sexist language in official state government business, effective immediately.”
Sanders, the daughter of two politicians, served under Donald Trump as the 31st White House press secretary and also as a senior advisor for Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. She became the Republican nominee in the 2022 Arkansas gubernatorial election and won.
She is the first woman to hold the office, the first woman to be governor of a state in which her father was also governor, and the youngest current governor in the U.S.
We commend her and thank her for broaching this highly sensitive topic so boldly.
