Inspired by the Putumayo World Music collection, our Music of the Week takes us to Cuba and the warm and mellow grooves of Afro-Cuban heritage. We chose a title by Cuban guitarist Eliades Ochoa (well-known to many in the U.S. by the Buena Vista Social Club album that was part of the 2010 Grammy-nominated album AfroCubism—a musical collaboration between Cuban and Malian musicians.

Founded in 1993, Putumayo is one of the best record labels to explore World Music and especially that of the Latin American region. It also features a weekly World Music radio hour airing from more than 100 radio stations around the world.
