Last year, popular country songwriter Karen Staley, a 30-year veteran of the Nashville music industry, experienced the honor of having her 2004 composition “I’ll Leave My Heart in Tennessee” chosen as the new official Tennessee State Song. For Staley, the song was born out of her gratitude to be able to live in the beautiful and freedom-loving state of Tennessee, where she has resided for over three decades.
It is Tennessee’s 11th State Song in its 226-year history!
At the recent Subscriber Gathering with Catherine in Tennessee, Karen was present and brought out her guitar, singing her song for the Solari crowd. For the last three years, Karen has been a “rarity” in the music business, choosing instead to fight for medical freedom and the truth about the “p(l)andemic”—and receiving major censorship hits along the way.
The song is presented here in a rendition by the bluegrass band Dailey & Vincent.
