“Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless.
Not to speak is to speak.
Not to act is to act.”
~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer
By Catherine Austin Fitts
Mass Formation is a theory that has circulated over the last year. My immediate reaction upon hearing it was that I could not fathom why anyone would take it seriously. It was proposed by a Belgian professor named Mattias Desmet. To explain why it bore little relationship to the reality of current events, I published an interview with Ulrike Granögger, Control and Freedom Happen One Person at a Time.
I was online last month with ally and friend, Dr. Peter Breggin for the Doctors for Covid Ethics Symposium. Peter’s resume, credentials and experience in the field of psychology and psychiatry are second to none. His nickname is “the conscience of psychiatry.” Somehow the theory of mass formation came up – and it turned out Peter shared my criticisms but from a place of much greater expertise. Peter’s brilliant wife Ginger had just finished Desmet’s book “The Psychology of Totalitarianism.” She encouraged Peter and I to read it and help our audience understand the issues involved.
So we read the book. Peter has written a book review (to come) as has Ulrike. Peter joined me yesterday for a discussion. His insights, as always, were right on the money. Our destiny is to confront the evil before us. We are not made safe by theories that distract us from seeing the control grid that is steadily invading all aspects of our life and work or identifying and stopping the people who are lavishly spending our money and resources to build it.

43:00) Catherine, please tell us the name of the book about the EARTH CHARTER discussion.
If Desmet doesn’t properly understand “love,” then he’s beyond “weird.” He’s a sociopath, clear and simple.
I put this comment on the book review, but adding it to the discussion here as well:
Thank you for sharing. I was not aware of Desmet’s stance on elites/conspiracies. I assumed that he believed that the conditions for mass formation were created and capitalized on by the Schwabbies, et al.
Now, it seems like Desmet is ready to be the leader of the gaslighting campaign, should the masses awaken to what’s been done. He got to practice and polish his message. They can roll him out on CNN and calm the masses by explaining that no elites are to blame. The populace did this to themselves with tragic outcomes.
I wanted to add that the key messages that I heard from Desmet were:
1. 30-40-30; About 30% of the population is likely to fall under the “spell.” Another 30% sees it for what it is. The middle 40% follow along with whoever seems to be winning the public debate. That aligned with my experience in a way and gave me some confidence to start speaking out more than I was.
2. One of the ways to prevent the “spell” (my word, not his), was to speak out. Creating friction for those following along was a key counter tactic. Again, I felt more empowered to speak out. In some way, it made me feel like I had a duty to.
3. The idea that there is free-floating anxiety that now has a target. Amen! So much anxiety around, it’s getting ridiculous. First, this perfectly describes my mother. She’s lived with undiagnosed anxiety her entire life that she manages by trying to control others. When the news coverage started, she was fixated. It was as if the danger she knew was out in the world was suddenly being recognized by others.
Having grown up with that in my life, I noticed that all of my closest friends also suffered from the same pattern. They were the first to join the covidians.
(Dr B – if you’re reading, a side benefit of the shut down was that it brought into light that growing up with emotionally immature parents left me emotionally stunted and co-dependent. Yikes! Making great strides now and on my way up!)
4. I assumed (amateur mistake. Lol) that Desmet subscribed to the fact that an evil group was driving the scamdemic. It didn’t even occur to me that he wouldn’t.
Maybe I only listened to short clips, or maybe my personal filters let the victim-blaming slide through undetected. Who knows?
But, this is my explanation of how smart people bought into his message. Desmet’s message also didn’t make me feel compelled to do nothing. I actually felt the opposite, much to my family’s chagrin.
I did not buy or read his book. The above is based on video clips. I often wondered how his voice wasn’t getting censored on YouTube. Now I know why.
Suggest you read the book. My impression from reports from his interviews is that his presentation is quite fluid.
I have confidence in you and Dr B. I’m willing to change my opinion based on things you both brought to light.
I’m still working my way through Kennedy’s book, so by the time I got to this one, I might have grey hair!
My recommendation is just to read Part II. You will see the problem and save a lot of time. Could not find anything useful in the first and last parts. Meantime, Kennedy’s book is pure gold.
A big caveat to my comments here – I have not read Desmet’s book (though I did purchase it, and it is in my queue, perhaps on a downward slide for the time being). I saw two interviews with him on Corbett and The Highwire, which prompted me to forward this on to a couple of my normie relatives (and buy his book for myself). They actually watched it and were engaged with me on the topic afterwards. I was glad to hear more about this after hearing both Malone and McCullough refer to the same general phenomenon, calling it “mass formation psychosis”. Some of the interesting points in the interview on Corbett and Highwire that I was able to glean is Desmet’s theory (which he attributes to others) of the tendency for people to align/affiliate with a cause rather than with each other, which was accentuated by the isolation. Harrowing example of a mother turning in her son to be executed for not being righteous enough – prioritizing the alignment with the cause over interpersonal relationships.
My overall feeling is like this: 1. waking as many people up as quickly as possible is paramount, 2. waking people up may be broken down into two major steps of realization – one, you have been massively duped, and two, evil conspirators are the ones that have done this (and perhaps 2b., they are not even close – the worst is yet to come).
From my observation of normie relatives, after watching the Desmet interview, they were open to 1. above – they are even glad to be able to tell themselves, “see there is no conspiracy after all” (and to a certain extent, this betrays an internal struggle they must have been having admitting that “something isn’t right here…”). So at least they are part of the way awake at that point. Conversely, if they must swallow both 1 and 2 together (and likely 2b), they tend to reject the proposition altogether and are repelled back to the other side even more. Something about a conspiracy is a non-starter for a lot of people I think (the op on that word has been vey successful, almost as much as that of the “anti-vaxxer” pejorative).
So pragmatically, Desmet’s theory may be a useful starting point for waking up a larger proportion of the population. From there, a slow walk to the global conspiracy of Mr. Globaloney / Spector (whom we can presume are strict behaviorists when it comes to psychology – their only goal is to manipulate an outcome) can come along naturally. We can speculate that they utilize the mechanism that Desmet describes (along with AI to game the best outcome for their ends) to their advantage. That could be a criticism of the Desmet hypothesis that can lead to points 2 and 2b – there is no evidence or even theoretical limit within even his own hypothesis here preventing an evildoer from leveraging this mechanism (e.g., it need not be a spontaneously emergent phenomenon).
Last I want to express my utmost respect for Dr. Peter Breggin in your interview with him. Clearly he has a distaste for the Psychoanalytical tradition of Psychology, and with good reason (I personally have never taken very much stock in this branch, and have an even lower opinion of it after hearing Breggin’s points). The context he provides with Freud’s Oedipus Complex and the child molestation / rape / incest is paramount, and disgusting to say the least.
I welcome any feedback, criticisms or suggestions.
I disagree that Desmets theory is useful for waking people up. It is simply the road into another fantasy and one that can be used to support great evil, walking away from reality. I think the best way to wake people up is to show them practical options for action that progressively increase their resilience and protect them from the various health and financial risks they face. Authenticity and truth matter. They work. Especially when they help people reduce the risk in their lives. Walk them out of the danger zone, not into it.
I do appreciate both of your insights and wisdom on the subject matter. I’m glad we were able to hear a little more about his past battles against unjust treatments in the psychiatric institutional establishments. I hear so many wonderful things about Ginger, I hope in the next interview you can convince both of them to enter the forum.
Thank you for this enjoyable and interesting discussion. I already wrote a most snotty comment about the book under Ulrike’s review, to the effect that I binned it after experiencing just a few pages of intellectual incoherence and nonsense. Nevertheless, it was valuable, interesting and amusing to have Dr Breggin run over the whole thing and laugh at it.
In 2006-2007 i opened my home located a few blocks from UN HQ in east midtown NYC at the time to a friend of a college buddy who had become one of the rare American grad students over the years to have been accepted into the global orgqnization’s official internship program.
I made no habit of engaging him in discussion about the his work or the dynamics of that work environment, however i can bear witness to a small handfull of details which were disclosed to me in the course of casual conversation during the several months he lived, as a welcome extension to my household
I have only anecdote to offer, no evidence. And i will abbreviate my commentary in respect to his own personal privacy as well as my own.
So… thr may be a CEPI presentation made to the UN by Gates or hia Foundation that can be dated to 2017, however… Agenda21 existed as a formal, publicly available document published to the UN’s public facing website as far back as 2005 and it probably existed in one form or another therein going back several years befor that.
Thus its inaccurate to promote the idea that the UN was _introduced_ to anybody’s master plan in 2017! And a gifted researcher (such as Beggins’ partner perhaps) could turn up public documentation dated at least a decade earlier w the assistance of Wayback Machine.
Just my 2cents within the realm of the Breggin interview. Im new to solari and thoroughly enjoying its offerring thus far. Thank you for sharing, Catherine.
Great intelligence. Deeply appreciated.
Dr. Breggin’s face becomes flush with anger when Catherine asks him to explain the “exact theory of mass formation”. He shoots back, “There is no theory of mass formation because it’s a hoax.”(!) Dr. Breggin appears unnerved at times through the interview. There is something so oddly personal about the way he criticizes Desmet’s work that one wonders if Dr. Breggin could benefit from some therapy himself. With the attention Desmet’s book is receiving, perhaps Breggin’s bitter dissatisfaction with Desmet is merely a case of old fashioned professional jealousy.
Dr. Breggin makes outrageous charges and comments throughout this interview. He states that the physicians of the Victorian era, European men, were “diddling their children” and “beating their wives”. He makes these accusations about men he has never known and who lived quite awhile before him. He gives no evidence of his claims. He makes an equally nonsensical allegation that wife-beating and child abuse were engaged in because there were no “concepts” at that time that dealt with such matters. While I am not knowledgeable with regard to the history of European law, I do know that the Christian belief system has always had a “concept” covering that – they call it “sin”.
Zionists and neocons are as much global predators as individuals like Gates or Schwab, and organizations like the WHO, the WEF, etc. The neocons in our government pushed for the invasion of Iraq. Remember the relentless shriek-o-meter going on 24/7 about “weapons of mass destruction?”
Dr. Breggin, evidently a supporter of Israel, says that Iran wants to bomb Israel. Iran does not possess nuclear weapons. Israel has had nukes for decades and last I heard, is the only country in the middle east with nukes. Also, Israel has been committing all sorts of aggression and sabotage against Iran for years, including assassinating its scientists.
See the writings of former Israeli Victor Ostrovsky, an ex-Mossad agent. “By Way of Deception : The Making and Unmaking of a Mossad Officer” by Victor Ostrovsky and Claire Hoy. His book shows the depths of treachery Israel is capable of.
We pay a high price for having neocon Zionists in our government, and the nation of Israel as our “ally.” Since control grids are of much concern at Solari, please know who it is that has had a control grid on the US for a long time now.
Dr. Breggin gets angry because he hates to see people harmed by “blaming the victim.” Suggest you watch The Minds of Men that tell of his extraordinary efforts to protect human rights and go to his website and read his 31 page resume – incredible credentials.
I suggest you engage his arguments on the merits, instead of taking cheap shots, like accusing him of needing therapy.
The only question about intelligence operations involved here is whether mass formation is a theory that they are financing “open source” support for. Maybe its just the large pharmaceutical companies and the foundations that help launder money their way.
🙂
You accuse me of taking cheap shots and put a happy face on it? I have been victimized by this whole Covid business as well, but there are other issues Breggin raised in the discussion that cannot be ignored.
What good is criticizing the whole Covid debacle when you allow countries to be put down that are at the mercy of Israel and the US. Iraqi lives, hundreds of the thousands, were sacrificed do to the neocons
It may not be on topic re: mass formation, but the discussion allowed Breggin to get away with outrageous asides that you did not challenge. People like him can go on forever just to sneak in that little bit of propaganda.
People like Breggin score points when they are not challenged on Israeli hegemony.
“The extent of the persecution and discrimination aginst non-Jews inflicted by the “Jewish state” with the support of organized diaspora Jews is also enormously greater than the suffering inflicted on Jews by regimes hostile to them.”
This is a quote of Israel Shahak’s mentioned when you reviewed his book.
Please stay in integrity, Catherine.
I am in integrity. The discussion was on mass formation theory. Middle east politics was not the focus. Not sure why Peter brought it up. I have not discussed with him – I doubt he is pro-necon if you have read his other writings and book. Seens to be quite anti-neocon. You should read all his work on corruption if you are interested in judging his political positions.
Does a 31 page resume allow Dr Breggin to get angry and agressive against Desmet (or any other point of view that differs from his?) If he had wisdom (sagesse), he wouldn’t need to attack in such a virulent way. Mattias Desmet was very helpfull for me to understand what is going on with family and friends, mainly doctors and professionals, some of which have substantial resume, that were falling for the narrative and pushing the injections.
Strongly recommend you learn about military grade neurological weapons – watch the Morgan and Giordano lectures and consume the other links here.
https://home.solari.com/mind-control-tactics-used-on-young-people-and-children/
While something did in fact happen to your family and friends it was not mass formation .
This can help you understand
https://home.solari.com/control-freedom-happen-one-person-at-a-time-with-ulrike-granogger/
If you think that mass formation explains anything, I strongly recommend you read Part II of Desmet’s book and then read the Breggins book review.
If Peter feels passionate, it is because he is deeply concerned about how this theory will be used to help end freedom. It is a noble impulse.
Strongly recommend you watch Truthstream Media’s The Minds of Men to understand what a marvelous freedom fighter he is.
Catherine
Your attacks on Peter Breggin and Catherine Austin Fitts are disturbing. Peter Breggin has done more to come against lobotomies, shock therapy, and pharmaceutical restraints–all torturous implements covered under the aegis of “Medical Help”–than anyone in this century….and even suggesting that Catherine Austin Fitts is remiss in integrity would be like saying the sky is not blue. Ridiculous.
there are many recorded accounts of abuse during the Victorian era, and some degree of physicians more concerned with the reputation of abusive parent than the child victim, so he’s not making idle reference here. I certainly resonate with his frustration. A book that unabashedly delves into this is: “The Assault on Truth: Freud’s suppression of the seduction Theory”. I’m often surprised that it’s not more well-known in the general public (seeing how it was published when people still read books).
This was one of my all time favourite solari interviews, thank you! More Dr Peter Breggin please!
It’s great to watch two lovely people having an intelligent conversation and although they are discussing some pretty miserable stuff they are nevertheless able to laugh and smile.
Dr Breggin refers to the Global Predator Profile. For those who are interested, this profile can be found in Chapter 22: ‘Names and Shared Characteristics of America’s Top Global Predators’ of his book ‘Covid-19 and the Global Predators’.
Dr Breggin also referred to the Master Plan for the fulfillment of the main predatory goals. He goes on to describe in his book that this plan was presented in July 2017 in the form of a 21-page PowerPoint presentation made by CEPI to the World Health Organization and it was officially unveiled in early 2017 by Bill Gates, along with Klaus Schwab of the World Economic Forum. Further Breggin says, ‘This document lays out nearly everything that will occur in the near future and does so in enormous detail’ and he provides a reference link to that Power-Point presentation
https://www.who.int/medicines/ebola-treatment/TheCoalitionEpidemicPreparednessInnovations-an-overview.pdf
When I clicked the link it it seems that ‘This page cannot be found’ on the WHO web site.
Does anyone know where or how I can get a copy of this PPT presentation?
I liked Breggin’s description about the difference between the American revolution and the French revolution being that the American revolution was based upon us basically wanting to be left alone whereas the French and subsequent other revolutions were based upon the aim of changing society.
I also liked his advice about not going to cocktail parties.
At time 37.00 Catherine provides a succinct 3-pronged overview for understanding the deep state tactics used to get people to accept the official narrative, namely
1- mind control: digital systems that do surveillance, entrianment and programming while also collecting data
2- money: financial nuts and bolts with money used in ways to trap everyone on a person-by-person basis, and
3- force: covert operations such as assassinations.
She has mentioned this in other discussions, but it is a good and handy guide to keep in mind.
Hi Catherine,
I would say that Gustav Le Bon wrote about mass movements in France during the 19th century which Desmet gets all his ideas from. When I read Le Bon books I see what Desmet changed to fit his narrative of events for the present time. But Le Bon is largely forgotten so his books and ideas(as Mussolini was said to have read “the crowd’ le bon crowd psychology) can be rebranded and no one will challenge him on this.
(Coarse language alert).
In my healing practice, I sometimes get patients who “worry about their cholesterol” or some other similar topic. This is how the conversation usually evolves:
Patient: I’m worried about my cholesterol
Me: No you don’t
Patient: Yes I do!
Me: I guarantee you don’t give a shit about your cholesterol
Patient: [usually a blank stare]
Me: What you actually care about is being alive 20 years from now to see your daughter get married. Or to play with your grandchildren when they’re small. You’ve been told to care about your cholesterol so many times that you actually think it’s relevant. It isn’t. So, let’s get to work and work together to get you what you actually want, as opposed to what you’ve been told what to believe.
That’s how I see the Mass Formation. It’s an EXPLANATION. It cannot not provide MEANING. It appeals to individuals who cannot hold the polarity that God exists AND evil exists simultaneously, a paradox which cannot co-exist in the rational mind. The mature mind (aka: Wisdom) tries to make sense of the world that exists, on its own terms. The rational mind lives in a hypothetical world which operates by certain rules that don’t actually exist in real life.
In other words: God isn’t the Tooth Fairy. Chances are, you’re a Stormtrooper, not Luke Skywalker. So, let’s get to work. Together.
Excellent description of our situation.
Inspiring and wise. It’s all a matter of perspective. Thank you.
There is a precedent to Desmet’s idea of Mass Formation… it is laid out in a book written in 1933 by Austrian psychoanalyst Wilhelm Reich. It is called The Mass Psychology of Fascism, and the thrust of the author’s thesis is that Hitler was a creation of the German psyche that collectively sought an authoritarian father figure who would solve all of their economic problems.
You are right. I had forgotten that one. Blaming the victim has been an old and profitable business.
I was not taking notes when listening this time, and there were a few books mentioned. Can anyone list what they are?
Erin,
I heard these books mentioned: Covid 19 and the Global Predators, Talking Back to Prozac both by Dr Breggin and Political Ponerology by Andrew Lobaczewski
I might have missed one. Hope that helps!
Jennifer
Thank you for this interview.
Is’t it strange the problem often is ascribed to a problem in perception of reality but the cure to that “perception problem” is invasive physical treatments and don’t go along with that you risk loosing license to help people!
I am sad and hurt however, that my little country helps the deep cancerous rot by Desmet big con book.
Super interview! So much wisdom packaged in so much fun listening.
Malone can go to the basement with Desmet.
I’ll second that.
I’ll third that. I thought I picked up on some narcissism, so alarm bells started going off in my head.
May mine be the 4th and thrilled for such excellent compadres. Malone is off in many ways, saw it after the 3rd interview with Epoch Times, but thought no one else noticed. Thanks Catherine.
Amen to the basement with the bunch.

Oh my GOD. I am sick to my stomach but not surprised. UGH. He is a plant. I still think Desmet may be an actor, but that “smooth operator” has a LOT of peeps I know and love fooled. Mr Global is really good at choosing his chew toys to create cover stories.
