Lisa, Praying for your daughter & grandchild for a successful delivery. I just hate those useless tests. I can’t imagine having the extra stress of worrying if you can keep your child near you or not due to a useless test!!! Stay calm, think positive thoughts and hug your family and that new baby. Sending prayers. The faster they can get out of that hospital with the baby the better. -Jennifer
Jennifer, thank you! One year later, what a beautiful sturdy child, has been to Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, Japan, AND the US to see us.
Father’s Day, the 42d here, as we await the first grandchild, coming soon in Hong Kong. Possibly to be induced to work the timing around PCR tests and requirements. Private hospital lets the father in, public does not and the child will be removed if the mother has a positive PCR. I am squelching panic. Our son was here for Mother’s day, a rare treat, circumnavigating on his first business trip in two years. He was sick in Ireland, mildly feverish, usual for travel, he says. Then finally back to HK, a week in the hotel, a negative test, home to his round wife, and then sick again, two days of fever and a cold and a positive test. Seems good now. “Cases” are rising in HK. And predicted to continue rising, though contact tracing has stopped explaining transmission. The other grandparents will come out of the Q-hotel after the newly scheduled induction date… Don’t let me panic! So many hazards ahead. I should just be grateful that the child has been carried so close to term. Each generation brings what is needed, RS says. So let’s not inject anti-hope. Thanks for the good doctors’ symposium.
I miss my Dad. He passed in 1978
