Recapping the Third Quarter with Dr. Joseph Farrell
“The opportunity to secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself.”
~ Sun Tzu
By Catherine Austin Fitts
The third quarter of 2015 was a tough one. The geopolitical tensions between the G-7 and BRIC nations threaded through the news as the global economy slowed. The Fed backed down on interest rates – not a good sign. Fears regarding the corruption of our political and financial leaders also continued to grow.
In this week’s Third Quarter Wrap Up, I will take a look at the top stories of the quarter and what’s coming up between now and the end of 2015.
In each Solari Report Wrap Up, we take an in-depth look at an important subject:
- In our Annual Wrap Up in January, we looked at the growth of global stock markets in Planet Equity.
- In the First Quarter, we looked at the growth of global debt and the end of the bond bull in Planet Debt.
- In the Second Quarter, we looked at Infrastructure and its critical role in building the global economy and global cooperation.
In this Wrap Up – in addition to our review of top news stories, financial markets and what’s coming up in Q4 – we will take a look the Chinese equity markets.
China restarted its equity markets in 1990 after a 40-year hiatus. Now, only 25 years later, the Chinese equity markets have a market capitalization of over $7 trillion. That is approximately 10% of the value of global equity markets. If you include Hong Kong’s market, it is nearly 15%. Such growth is nothing short of astonishing.
The dramatic rise and fall of prices in the Chinese stock market this year raise important questions about China’s role in the global economy. The Chinese equity markets trade at 1) the intersection of the desire of billions of Asians for a better life with 2) the economic warfare and risks created by the potential unraveling of the current geopolitical order.
For this week’s movie, I will review one of my favorite movies set in China, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Directed by Ang Lee, it is one of the world’s most popular martial arts films and it is now available online.

Hello Catherine,
I must say I really enjoyed meeting you and a few of our fellow subscribers at the lunch in Austin. You make a most cordial hostess.
Here s a zero hedge comment i just ran across. It could be old news to you and your crack staff or possibly helpful.
Either way, thanks again for all of you and your team’s tireless effort to benefit and inform the fortunate inhabitants of this free and inspired
globe of love and life.:)…

Something is missing in the Middle East reshuffling… If Putin were using only 0bama’s weakness to re-assert Russia into such an important region, he would be running a risk of a major direct confrontation with the US/NATO, if a neocon is elected the next POTUS.
All his super-easy gains might be threatened in about a year. So, his assertiveness must be based on something else, which cannot be jeopardized on the day the new President takes the oath, whoever he/she might be.
So, what’s missing?
There are two possibilities:
1. Our nukes and/or ballistic missile shield, neglected for the last 25 years, might be completely useless TODAY. We know it and he knows it, OR…
2. Russia could have built a new weapon which would render everything we have useless. It could easily be a “satellite killer”, for example. Look, if the Rooskies blow-up a dozen of select satellites, all our equipment (ground, naval, air) turns into a pile of junk instantaneously. Without the GPS, Internet, Secure Communications our military would be as blind and deaf as a week-old puppy.
About 6-7 months ago Russia proposed a UN Security Council resolution prohibiting the use of Space/Cosmos for military purposes. We, the exceptional, vetoed it. Well… Just a few weeks later, the Russian Air Force was officially renamed into the Air-Cosmic Force.
Two weeks later, our satellite gets blown to smithereens due to a “sudden temperature increase”.
My whole point is that no matter how indecisive or cowardly a President could be, the MIC and Banksters would never allow him to surrender THAT MUCH and THAT EASILY, unless they too knew that Putin’s got REAL aces up his sleeve. I think? 😉
Looney…
…. a nice little twist?
About to settle in w the Q3 wrap-up…it s like a good football game meets 3–D chess!
I do sometimes worry a little about the level of detachment required to maintain a dispassionate view of human events. These lives we are talking about
are real people and families and unimaginable suffering, really brutal stuff. On the other hand, if I indulge in unrestrained empathy, emotion takes over in the form and sadness and
anger… not a practical state of mind at all , a pretty tricky balance to strike. My guess would be that at this point you deploy Faith and Prayer and give it up to a Bigger Wheel:)

P.S. Did you happen to take a glance at that Lewis Lapham book I slipped to you called Rules of Influence? I m wondering if he accurately depicts the crowd he enjoys satirizing.
I figured you would probably know…:)
Cheers…
What if Putin is also working for Mr. Global? There are numerous options here….
Hi
The Money and Markets link has zero bytes download and the play option has file not found. Is it all in the Wrap Up?
Thanks…
Nigel:
Sorry about that. I checked it last night and it was working fine. I will get it redone. Thanks so much for letting us know!

Hi Catherine,
I don’t know if you have been following the Hastert scandal and cover up by James Corbett and Sibel Edmonds (BoilingFrogsPost.com), but this, along with the Catholic Church institution shunning…. well, our governmental talking heads need shunning as well.

You and your site help me keep my ‘fear porn’ meter in the green.
Thank you so much
Olivia:
Yes, great interview. We just posted today on the website.
Delighted to hear about your fear porn meter!

I’ve been thinking about risk mitigation…of assists, or more crudely: money. How does one find and rate the safety of other jurisdictions, and the parameters of US law in these matters? Has anyone created a rating system of some kind? I would think it would be worth paying for this kind of insight…if that motivates the greater Solaris community. Thanks.
Yes, I agree. International Living and Sovereign Man as well as the Sovereign Society seem to have done a lot of write ups on these topics. I don’t know if they have standardized a rating system. I will keep my eyes out.
Hi,
I see biotech stocks getting destroyed. Is this justice served or pump and dump?
