“My preference is to live neither as dependent or victim, rather to look reality squarely in the face and use the resulting intelligence to live a free and inspired life. This includes building wealth in changing times.” – 2014 Annual Wrap Up

By Catherine Austin Fitts

This week on The Solari Report, Jon Rappoport joins me to discuss the most intimate part of our 2014 Annual Wrap Up.

How do we manage to live a free & inspired life? How do we create a vision for our future which is more attractive to our time and attention than the shrieking and manipulations around us? How do we calmly navigate in the midst of political instability and volatile financial and commodity markets?

As always Jon helps us to live the life we choose to lead, not the one others attempt to herd us into.

Enjoy the web presentation for the Wrap Up first – you will get essential perspective on what is happening and what’s ahead.

In Money & Markets I will review recent geopolitical and financial developments.

In Let’s Go to the Movies, I will discuss the new Denzel Washington action thriller “The Equalizer”.

  1. Hi Catherine,

Thanks for the inspiring presentation with Jon. The discussion about looking far into the future reminded me of Olaf Stapledon’s “Last and First Men”, a science-fiction book from the 1930s. It looks two billion (!) years into the future of humans. While the book is mostly about history-as-future philosophy and leans towards collectivist viewpoints, it’s unique in the large number of societal and technological permutations which are imagined, inevitably provoking one’s own imagination.

For example, this excerpt is about eugenics in a musical culture:

“It was amongst the rebel peoples that the biological interest of the race, hitherto subordinate, came into its own. Mating, at least among the more devout sort of women, began to be influenced by the desire to have children who should be of outstanding musical brilliance and sensitivity. Biological sciences were rudimentary, but the general principle of selective breeding was known. Within a century this policy of breeding for music, or breeding “soul,” developed from a private idiosyncrasy into a racial obsession. It was so far successful that after a while a new type became common, and thrived upon the approbation and devotion of ordinary persons. These new beings were indeed extravagantly sensitive to music, so much so that the song of a sky-lark caused them serious torture by its banality, and in response to any human music of the kind which they approved, they invariably fell into a trance. Under the stimulus of music which was not to their taste they were apt to run amok and murder the performers.”

After reading this book, one may be inclined to convert contemporary news stories into page references 🙂

    1. Rich:

I would be laughing so hard that I might cry…except for the sobering reality of the truth in what you say.

I have not read Stapledon. Will take a look,

      Catherine

  2. Karen:

I am sorry you are disappointed. Including for legal and regulatory reasons, I do not give investment advice on the Solari Report. I do try to get a great deal of the background information you need to determine how to do your own.

All the ways I invest are options that you have – other than local options in Tennessee specifically. You have options where you are.
To the extent I have had the option to participate in insider deals since leaving Dillon Read, I turned them down. When you take subsidy from a system, you are obligated to it. I wish to be free of the obligations.

I don’t know Hank Paulson. I assume it is for the same reason so many people who are successful in business are not knowledgable of the overall picture. They have been busy climbing the ladder in their particular activity and have not had the time, inclination and access to information to put together an integrated picture of the covert side and how it integrates with the overt including their line of work or their neighborhood.

It took me years of full time study to put together my map – once I finished doing so I discovered to my surprise that very few people had an integrated picture and very few wanted one.

  3. But, at the same time if you could hear the music upon young death and the love that goes around…well you have no idea the passion and sincerity and truth and absolute peace that soothes the soul. God help us all the love that breathes and delivers more than anyone can ever imagine. There are times that the soul swallows evil and is afraid of nothing. I’m sure you have experienced this. Pure love. God help me how much I love. How much my own freedom is worth…how much my daughter’s are worth.

You would not want to look into my eyes to find the answer no matter their age. I decided a long time ago.

    With Love,

    Karen

  4. Dear Catherine,

Since Hank Paulson is in my neighborhood I’d like to ask you how he did not know but you did? Pretty scary. I read his book and plucked out lie after lie…it was obvious to me he was weak… but what about you…how did you know? You didn’t go into detail how you knew? That is also scary.

Upon the election as Bush was exiting I might have been one of the few individuals that was paying attention. We went from the G-7 to the G-20 or something like that in a nano-second. I was scared to death.

My fears have been played out as I have fired my Swiss broker and discounted myself… I wonder all the time if I did the right thing. There is no way of knowing. But, I do know this: my little family is working way too hard to keep our heads just above water.

As you laugh along with others, we find nothing funny, since we thought you’d give us guidance and direction after we left our broker.

We have received nothing. We do get the point. But at some stage you have to admit that you are more intelligent than families like us and invest in ways than we can’t and so we are screwed as usual.

I am sincere and heart-broken as I navigate alone.

  5. Your interview with John this week is sheer delight. Thank you again for all that you do.

  6. Hi Catherine! I am a new subscriber… have followed your work closely since your IRTA Bar Convention presentation went live on Google Video… “pre YouTube”.

Firstly, I love John Rushton’s comment, about the levity you bring to the sobering mess of the human story on earth. You are a very unique and lovely human being… I don’t know of anyone else who can talk about these tough issues and “deep analysis” as you do, and I still walk away feeling hopeful. There is something about your spiritual energy and integrity that makes it so. Thank you for being a truth teller, and for bringing the sacred into so much you do. Your ministry is so much appreciated.

QUESTION: I don’t know what time the weekly updates are recorded… but if you could, would you touch on the Swiss move to take the lid off the Franc, and how it may adjust your scenario estimates for Slow Burn, Collapse… etc… lot’s of flipped out folks in the EU at present…

    Thanks again…

    Warmest regards,

    Dave Yates

  7. Hello Catherine,

I enjoy your commentary on the geopolitics of the planet Earth. Have you thought about interviewing William F Engdahl or Martin Armstrong?

    1. We have had Engdahl. As soon as the new documentary about Martin is available, I was planning on asking him. Thanks for the reminder.

  8. Hello Catherine, I’ve been a Solari member for about 2 years now. I first heard about you on a u tube video about the “tapeworm economy”. Finally it all made sense. Last week during Q&A you gave a wonderful description of how you stay positive. You spoke of having great faith in what our financial system could be. The shrunken economy that is and what it could be if the money was engineered more transparently. I’ve always loved this positive approach to the economy that you have presented.

My question is. Is there any other finincial. or political people that share this same understanding of the mess that we are in, and how to improve it? I would love to here more of how this could work. I haven’t heard of anyone that understands your depth of the entirety of the situation.

    Thank you

    1. John:

Farrell, Rappoport and Dolan have the best overall understanding of anyone I have found. There are other researches I don’t know as well who probably do – Jim Marrs, George Ure, Cliff High, Peter Levanda.

I know a few business and financial people who have an excellent understanding. However, they will not discuss anything openly or with their business partners and clients. They use the intelligence to succeed at what they do, but for a wide variety of reasons, feel it is best to be quiet. Obviously, there are many people in the intelligence agencies and secret societies who know a great deal. An understanding of big picture, however, is very rare. One of the most frightening aspects of the bailout period was that Hank Paulson, former Chairman of Goldman Sachs and Secretary of the Treasury, did not know that AIG would never be allowed to go bankrupt. I knew – their involvement in black budget and sensitive government operations was much too extensive. But he did not know that. Scarey. Most people who are very successful are too busy rising up the ladder in their part of the world to understand the whole thing. It is quite amazing that everything works as well as it does. The waste resulting from the lies and lack of transparency and the gaps between official reality and reality are mindboggling. If you have not read Richard Dolan’s new book, highly recommended.
